2015 GS TE Black paint problem (Drive Shaft housing)

Hello all,
My GS TE is barely 4 months old and this showed up on my drive shaft paint the other day. I wash my bike with a non corrosive shampoo ( Armor all ) and keep the salt at bay my rinsing with cold water.
Clearly something has reacted with the waterbased shit BMW is now using.

Has any other poor sod encountered the same fate?

To the paint sprayers out there: Can I compound and polish this?

Any or all advice welcome.

Feck that and take it back!!!! I know I take the mick regarding water cooled GSA but that's bad, Cotswolds offer me £9000 for my 2013 GSA against a new LC think I will keep the old girl now as she looks brand new compared to that

I would suggest it is what you have washed it with being left on too long

I use Muc Off on my GSA and have never had an issue despite others being told by BMW that its use will invalidate their paint warranty

Removing your bike from the hermetically sealed bubble (which bmw can supply at extra cost) will probably invalidate your new bmw's paintwork and anti corrosion warranty

Let us know how you get on. I've got a huge range of cleaning products (as any GS owner should ), so if you get stuck, you can always pop round, and I'll see if I have something that'll sort it.

Try WD40 on a micro fibre cloth first. That will come out but try the softest first and work back. The final drive has a good quality finish and that is nothing more than a water stain.

Looks as tho you have left some cleaning agent on to long, stained the powder coat, if you have i would G3 compound and finish with some 3m finesse should do the job. I had similar staining on the swingarm on a f800gs when I forgot to close the fuel cap and it pissed all over them swinger.

I'm sure BMW will say it's your own fault .

Many thanks for the quality info, guys!

I'm thinking of using 3000 micromesh wet 'n dry and then compound the bugger, but like the WD40 option so will give that a go first.

I won't bother contacting BMW cos I know they will turn the whole bloody thing into a drama, even though I'm using cleaning products that they recommend!!!
