Hi all.
I changed from a 30th anni gsa last sept, the new Gsa te has just turned 3k miles, the best range so far has been 285 miles from a full tank, the inboard shows the average anything from 39 to 47 after any ride out. Dealer can't explain the lack of range. I ride it the same as the old one and that sometimes may be very sharp but even on a bad run the old lady would do 350 on a tank.
Can anyone give me a heads up as to what they're getting from the wc GSA. Average reading and range, please

Best I ever got from mine was about 400
worst i ever got after a particularly brutal spanking to scotland was 240 ish but normal was about 300 or so before fill up needed I.E the light came on

from memory it used to show average on the computer thing of about 52

I never worry about fuel consumption, bike is for fun not frugality

I am lucky if i get 40 mpg from the XR but very happy if i get it into low 30s

My avg is 41mpg. The tank has a funnel in the top, which means you cant get 30 litres in it!

I think part of my relationship with the new one is that the better bike sat beside it in the garage for over a month, the whole idea for the adv is the range, and mine ain't got it. I just wonder if BMW can do anything like remapping or something, I want more miles

Wot bike can better the range. 300 miles is good. Most bikes are around 180 - 200. JJH

I rode to Oslo in August past, on the air cooled, her indoors was on her 12 GS, on one leg of the trip my GSA did 446 miles on te fill,( to be fair I was able to squeeze 36 liters into the tank from complete empty, so my issue is fairly simple the auld bike did anything from 350 hoofing to 450 at a sensible rate 65 -70ish. BM states that the LC is more efficient, so I shud get similar range either way.

Sounds like there is something wrong, I can tell you from putting 11000 brisk miles on a standard GS WC that the consumption was averaging 52mpg inc commuting. It's definitely more economical than previous GS's.

My older twin cam bikes were about 5mpg down averaging about 46mpg on twin cam GSA , less on the 1150s. Saying that I never got 350 (maybe once) miles from my twin cam adventure, either of them, and I had an 11 and 12 plate.

Subjective but I found the gear change a lot crisper on the WC too, less slack.

Maybe you could run a demo bike for a weekend to compare.

how many litres are you putting in the LC then ??

And just another little winge, I just replaced the rear tyre at 2550 miles (anakees), O I shud have taken it for a test before buying, silly me. I want my 30th Anni back!!

If your wanting more mileage, check your right hand. I own a 14 GSA and brimmed ,never get a sniff at 300 range, 280ish is my lot, again, one pays for spirited riding. Enjoy it and pay up.

Last week I run about 10 miles after the range finder went to the 3 dashes, and all I cud squeeze in was 29.6 I think.

Paying for it ain't the issue, and I wud be right and spirited on her, and unless I'm away with the mates in Europe the wife has to fill at about 230. But I took her twin cam the other day and over a 30 mile trip had it doing 52 mpg, (that was a very sensible run)
