Having just purchased a s/h gsa o8, i was told by previous owner to use super unleaded only, so i filled up other day from empty and surprised it cost 40 sqid,
now 3/4 way down the tank fuel consumption is lookin worse than my Yaris!
What can i expect?

You can expect to run out all together if you don't refill it soon.

Re fuel consumption

Yeah i thought 95 should be ok!
What can expect out of a full tank then average riding some motorway?
Goin on a tour and wanted a figure to budget fuel on?

Just come back from 2000 mile trip through France on Gs not GSA. I use only 95oct thats fine. mpg was 44-46. Coming back was all motorway at 85-95mph.

Going down through France a little more leisurely got nearer 50mpg. :thumb:thumb

I get 45 mpg with the boxes and a pillion on, and 47 mpg without :thumb

Rag it a bit low 40's pussy it low 50's! Good compared to Hondas VFR1200 or the new Dewcatty but tosh against a car............. aerodynamics of a brick dont help!!

Mine's doing 45-50mpg now with just over 1000 miles on the clock (although the computer says 39.7) which is an improvement on the 35-ish it did for the first few hundred miles.

Mine does 42 commuting through Sheffield (lots of stop starts, up and down steep hills), and about 47 on a good run, riding fairly hard.

Same as Snerkler really but if I drive it hard it can dip into the 30's. Its all over the place as well depending if the weather is cold or not.

oh dear , i must be getting old as regually get 55 + , with a best ever of 63 potering in Ireland.
Filled the tank up full to brim and ran it out 275 miles later, interestingly put in 22 litres standard gs

I must be equally old:- 55 mpg on a reasonable day. Extrapolating from miles remaining and fuel added gives a tank capacity between 22.5 and 22.8 litres.

Low 50's ridden briskly :D (ex courier) I have always put super unleaded in mine. It runs smoother, and on a brim to brim test (sad I know) gives 3 mpg better than standard fuel.

Super unleaded.....wot a waste of money.....it all depends on a number of fings, oil viscosity, tyre pressure, up hills or down, use of right hand to control the throttle thingy, your weight before and after a Big Mac, loaded, unloaded, rain or sun, motorway or twisty....this can go on forever.......you can expect anything from 40 to 55 mpg. Fill with 95....set mpg trip...ride and read!

Please please don't ask about oil and tyres though, all you will get is sarky comments!!!! :augie

Mine seems less smooth with 97 ron fuel.

Some get confused 'cos 95 ron unleaded here is called 95 ron super unleaded in Europe, they have 91 ron unleaded

:augie
