Hi,I was just wondering what extras one would buy ,IE fender extender, curd guard and radiator guards plus what sat nav can you use .BMW one costs a bomb.Cheers.

Definitely a front fender extender and a Mudsling or hugger at the rear :thumby:

The screen flaps around in the breeze, especially if you fit a larger one, so Cymarc screen braces are a useful addition

I fitted an R1100RT GPS mounting block to the GPS mounting bar. This has the universal four mounting holes, so you can then fit any Tomtom or Garmin unit.

If you're getting a TE with the nav preparation, bite the bullet and get the BMW nav, as its fully controllable with the wheel on the handlebars. Aftermarket ones won't work with the wheel.

Essential protection extras, for me, are:

Fender extender AND Mudsling
Radiator guards
Frame guards

And you can sell a kidney and fit the full Akra system, tinted screen, HP levers; the list goes on!

Regarding the sat nav
Why not look for a mint used BMW Nav 1V.
Nearly as good. Approx half the price

Zumo 660 can be had quite cheaply now with lifetime maps, about £260 I believe, will fit right in to the factory fitted mount, you wont be able to use the thumbwheel to control it but thats no biggy.
