I'm looking at trackers too - came across this on ebay: Genuine TK102 Tiny Realtime Vehicle Tracker Car Motorbike, eBay item number:281496786201

Just under £40 including hardwire kit - anyone see any issues with this system?

Not police monitored. Just get bike trac or an extra lock

How do you find that one in practise? Does it track your movements accurately? Does it have a motion sensor or alarm etc?

I wouldn't buy a tracker off eBay. Who knows who they share their information with.:augie

Rewire Security 303.

£60 for the unit. £10 annual fee (included in the purchase price).
This gives 24/7 live tracking.
Simple to fit. It has 3 wires, +, - , and alarm/ignition input (optional).
Uses GPS and Sim card. You need to top the sim card up every 3 months @£5. So £30 per year after the first year including 24/7 tracking via the map.
Monitor on your PC, or via an app for your phone or tablet. This is very easy to use.
UK based helpline.

The downsides are that you have to monitor it yourself. Alerts and commands are via text. This is what will use your credit up. I doubt it will be recognised by insurance companies as it's self fitted.

Personally, when garaged I just leave it in sleep mode with all other functions switched off. It automatically wakes up when the bike starts moving to allow tracking. I don't have it set to alert me, my garage alarm will do that.

When out and about I have wired in a simple movement sensor connected to the trackers ignition input. Basically it detects when the bike is taken of its main stand and sends me a text giving it exact position along with a link to the map. You can also use its inbuilt movement sensor, Geo-fence etc.

Rewire sell them on ebay as well, where they are cheaper to buy.
You can get the same unit for half the price direct from China. No support though.

Have two of these - and could track one of my bikes all the way across Europe to Morocco. Very inexpensive little tracker!

Yes, they are excellent value. I also like the fact that you can look at the map in the app to show exactly where you have been over the past 2 months as well as fully mapped live tracking. I was speaking to the guys at Rewire and they are developing another app that will send even more commands to the tracker. I like the fact that it is not just a simple 'phone locater' as it uses GPS and phone signals.
£10 annual fee and £25-30 tops ups each year - why pay more?

Installed one of these. GPRS, GSM and GPS. Insert a 2G simcard and set the vibration amount and time and other paramaters and away you go. The instructions are frankly crap but there are better ones on the net. It has a switched feed and live feed and will text or call you when there is excessive vibration, the ignition is switched on or it moves from the Geo fence that you sent up on Google maps.

It can be tracked on Google maps and you can also replay a record of any trip made, via your PC or phone app. Accuracy is pretty good and for the money, I'm quite impressed.

It can be wired up to cut power to anything really so disabling the bike/car but I haven't bothered to do that.
