Just picked up my new 2016 R1200GS Adventure TE. I love it and surprisingly it's quite s lot different from my 2011 bike. Engine is smoother, feels a little lighter, although no complaints about 2011 adventure weight and agile handling, and active suspension is great. Quick shifter very good going up from 3 to 6 but going down a little clunky. Fitting autocom though is a real pain; no room and need to give that some more thought

Nice :-D

I pick my new one up in a few weeks, also from vines l can see.

Autocom was easy to fit. There is just enough room under the pillion seat.

looks ace mate,I see you've thrown the options catalogue at it!,i 'm waiting for delivery of my triple black, seems to taking a dogs age even though its only been a few weeks

Unfortunately there's no room for the autocom under the pillion seat. The 2016 model has the corner breaking sensor position under the pillion seat with the alarm just behind it

It should fit in the recess above the rear brake light under the seat

Bugger.

I've got a 14 plate gsa and trading it in for a 2016 model.

Under my pillion seat I've got a autocom spa with a kenwood tk3302 next to it. I was hoping to swap it all over to the new one.

Great looking bike, enjoy!

I'm a bit disappointed they've replaced the MY15 blue though. That was going to me by choice when I swap next year.

Agreed; I think the blue on the 15 is much nicer, and looks great from any angle. I would say that though!:P

You could always buy the panels & seats, or see if anyone on here will swap with you.:thumb

I saw a new red GSA outside Bahnstormer this morning - have to say it looks rather nice :thumby:

Don't know why anyone is bothering with autocom there are fantastic bluetooth sets out there especially sena.

Luvverley,luvverly....identical to my purchase just the other week. Mine is obviously 2016MY in that blue but I bought it in August as it was a good deal both on the new bikes price and on my trade in. I went from a GS to the GSA predominantly for the quite frequent 400 mile days. I didnt want an RT but I see the GSA as an excellent tourer. I dont really ever think of it as being an Adventure or Off Road bike!

ANYWAY the Dealer phoned me today as he knew a friend of mine has been thinking of a new GSa and the purpose of the call was to say he was in a mood to do a silly deal on the identical GSA for the registration in the September ending quarter.

If you pm me, and are a truly serious buyer, I will put you in touch with this Sales Guy as it might be one of those really good chances. I'll need to give him your mobile or phone number and you must want to buy in September.

This has all come about because my friend is dragging his heels. I think he might eventually find he looked a gift horse in the mouth!

Cheers

Merrick

I have identical, which i picked up a week ago. Taking in for 1st service/oil change tomorrow. I also think the GSA is an excellent tourer and other than the odd dirt track, will not take it off road.

September is the month the new registration comes out & therefore a healthy month for dealers.

Don't you think a better deal could be done 2nd week of Jan ... everyone skint ... tax bill to pay ... freezing cold ... salt covered roads?

Dealers are full of shit & have the upper hand because they bullshit day in, day out for a living.

If he's in a mood to do a silly deal, it's because he knows there's a better deal coming up.

... and what he knocks off the new bike, will get back by insulting you on the part exchange.

edit; I love the frozen blue by the way! :thumby:
