Just been doing a spot of maintenance and checked the self check servo operation, only to find it didn't work. So I took off the muffler and covers to see what was happening and it looks like the motor is trying to move it, in as much as the cables tension. Disconnected the cable and the butterfly valve is free with no tight spots or glitches. Next step is the removal of the motor itself and removed the cover. Its all clean inside as you would expect so lubed the cables but noticed that the pulley inside the motor does not rotate. Its solid, which may well be normal or it could be seized. So wise ones, should it freely rotate or not. Now before you lecture me on health and it does sod all anyway etc. I know but i'm a pedantic sod and i'm gonna fix it.

Please dont bother :)

Any fix you do will be short lived, say 1-2k miles or months

It will fail again as long as its in the open position, thats all that counts

if you want proof, just do a search on here

I freed mine off, and lubed the moving parts with graphite powder mixed into a paste with a little oil.

I had hoped that this would get into the nooks and crannies that plain oil would, but then burn off and leave the graphite to lubricate.

This was about 2k miles ago, and it has just started squeaking again !!!
