Have I mentioned how much I hate the stock wing mirrors on the R. Hate-them! The ones on the S are a bit better...odd.

Bikes being delivered now have the correct software, but if you have an early bike you need another software update so that the display will provide direction information from the phones MY Ride connection.
In the UK it costs £7.99 to download the KTM MyRide app onto your smartphone. You then download maps within the MyRide app by first selecting continent, then country. This could be a slow process if you want all of Europe—for example, the UK maps are 1.2GB (I'm currently on a microwave link to a dish on the next mountain in Spain).
Once you've downloaded the app and the maps you no longer need Internet connection, just Bluetooth for the phone to communicate with the 790's TFT combination display.
At this stage this is similar to having Google Maps on your phone together with offline maps. In fact you could use now MyRide as a navigation aid in the car.
Both Google and MyRide will offer turn-by-turn navigation but Google offline maps for the UK are over 2GB so clearly include more information. Ah, but not all the KTM dealers!
So you choose your destination on MyRide. You can also setup via waypoints by name or browse map—not sure if there's a limit to the number of waypoints. You can tell it to avoid tolls, highways and/or unpaved roads, then pick quickest or shortest route.
Press start and it comes up on the navigation section of the KTM 790 combination display telling you how far to the next turn and showing a pictogram of what you do at that junction/roundabout/whatever.
For simple trips it sounds fine.
I’m aware of above and all of that works fine. The part that’s does not work on first delivery bikes is the display of direction messages on the dashboard. The reason given it was not certified in time for the bike shipping.
I have the app, I have the downloaded maps and they all sync and direction works well to my SC10 comms. Just won’t display arrows and direction info until the TI installed.
Just had my first service done and dealer had a bulletin through today -the early bikes like mine have an issue in the dash to link iPhones to nav readout and requires a dash replacement under warranty rather than just software upgrade

The irony
If this was BMW you would be shouting it from every rooftop but as it is KTM. ......
Another beta tester but this time it is orange.
Actually I really couldn’t care less. It’s not a feature I’ll use anyway as cant be arsed to download big files for mapping to the My Ride app on phone and then just get basic guidance when I can just use Google Maps instead, like I did on 1290.
