2020 KTM 1290 Superduke vs 2019 1250 GS-HP

That sounds like fair game then...Like the Boxercup...Rider and Rider only...:thumb
As for food of course in Germany or Italy they had no tacos or burritos but very good food.German beer is the opposite to making love in a canoe...Fu...... close to water...;) English Ales or American beer...Tough choice as I don't know what's worse...:D I like Guiness , though...
Do you have GS rentals up there ? And how much is the deductible...;)
B.T.W. Last year I met a big group of guys from your neck of the woods on boxers riding with Nick Sanders down south...They said Baja was definitely the best...Everything.Weather,food,roads,freedom...:thumb2 And that before I told them about real fun places in Tijuana...I guess I should have been the tourguide...;)They said nothing about the NC500...

Expert rider, journalist, food and drink critic and now..... Tour guide! You are the man!

Maybe, they didn't mention the NC500 because they don't want your type on it. Probably too technical anyway.

I have ridden good roads in Germany, the alps,Italy and Southern France but never the NC 500...Looks cold and I don't think they have good beer,Tequila,Fishtacos or Shrimp burritos there...I think I got you covered as long as you don't bring GS's but KTM's...:D The north coast looks pretty though if you like that kind of scenery...How is the road itself ? Twisty and good pavement or broken by the harsh weather ? I prefer Mexico...No cops, warmer weather, better looking birds...:;)

Are you immune from speed traps/cameras etc?

Yup, about £1,500 a week and about the same as a deductible for a 1250 GSA. Google is your friend.

The NC500 is just a bunch of roads in a big loop that was so named more officially in the last couple years, so odds are they wouldn't have spoken about it unless you were with them quite recently. Also, unless they're from Scotland (not England, Wales or Ireland) they probably won't have spoken about it.

And just to clarify, I won't be racing you on the roads. I ride them to enjoy them and I've had enough crashes that weren't my fault to know on these twisty stretches it doesn't take much to go down. So if you appear and rent a bike, give me a shout and I'll ride with you but I won't be road racing!

If Boxerlust does come and rent a 1250GS ill buy a KTMSDR and go up for the laugh

I think Scotland has two seasons 'cold and wet' and 'slightly warmer and wet'.
I have been to Scotland four times ;
14 days, Rained every day, cut short when they cancelled the Orkney ferry (force 8 plus).
3 days, didn't rain because I was in the car.
5 days, rode Isle of Skye leaning sideways, cut short due to the frogs and fishes falling from the black sky.
7 days, Rained every day, took in the NC500, threw the bike down road on a greasy bend, TT engine bars meant I could carry on being an idiot...
I will keep trying, maybe one day.

I did the NC500 this September, glorious weather up to 23C, in Scotland! I kid thee not. It did rain for the last night...………..back in the Lake district.

I was very lucky :-)

Sorry, I don't believe you, must have been heather dust in your eyes or something.

We did it towards the end of August - lots of rain and cold temperatures followed...

Why the fcuk I took vented gear and waterproof overs instead of my usual gear I have no idea...

There's definitely the risk of rain here, but it's usually still good fun unless you chuck it down the road (been there and done that like you).

You forget babe magnet! Apparently the birds in Scotland aren’t as tasty as the Mexicans! Suppose he just might have a point there. Lol

Yeah, I can't argue too much. Although I'd say there's definitely some beauties and absolute mutants in both countries. :D:D

You would think a guy that calls himself "Dirty Sanchez" would not be afraid of mexican whores...:D
I'm myself way more afraid of the long haired scottish highland cattle...;)
Hearing you guys talking about cold weather, rain, speed traps I say the Baja is way more fun...:thumb2
For those calling me out my invite to Baja or CSS stands !
I take pride in my riding and take it seriously as after 50 + years on this planet fast riding is one activity that still exites me and I'm pretty good at.Of course there is always a faster guy as even the best bar brawler comes home one night missing his teeth..;).
In the last 10 years it happened to me once and I will never forget it because the guy was playing this game will to pay the ultimate prize.Stupid or not like the TT.You have to respect a guy like that.It was on the Devil's Backbone a twisty 130 mile stretch in Mexico between Durango and Mazatlan going over the Sierra Madres.Jeremy Clarkson in a Porsche the motorcycle and mexican hater himself in a Top Gear episode turned me on to it...The best road(s) in the world. He was not lying.Turns of all kinds and sometimes 6 feet run-off followed by a half a mile drop to the bottom of the canyon.I think the steepest is 0.9 miles ! Anyways except for the bursts on the straights 600's,1000's,990/1190/1290 KTM's and Ducatis where easy victims to the 2012 aircooled R1200GS-ADV with longe Ohlins TTX shocks on Pirelli Scorpion Trail 2 sneakers...All they saw was the GS from behind grinding the front edges of the aluminum bags...:D
Until I came up on a mexican guy who rode the same bike without Ohlins and without backs. He immediately went into roade race mode.He was good...Smooth,good lines and full throttle. When he realized he could not get away and I trying to pass him wishing for 150 instead 110 hp he started to ride dirty.I thought this guy has ballz rather dying than getting passed by a gringo...:thumb While I stayed insinde my lane only passing when I could see he was dive bombing into bling turns and passing blind going 80-130 mph only able to see his maker...Pure machismo and absolutely no fear willing to pay the ultimate price...I will never forget this as also the weekend spend with these guys at the Semana de la Moto in Mazatlan them inviting the fast gringo partying like Charlie Sheen in his better days...;)
And yes Arsey is right...We need KTM 1290 top-end power to stay ahead in the straights,too...
170 hp and 17" wheels...:D
M1300GS :thumby:

Nurse, he’s out again. Time to increase the dose.

RedRick...This must be the famous english humor...:D
Like I always say when asked Where are you going ?
To hell if I don't change my ways...;)
May the lord bless us all !
We need it wish the shit going on in the U.S. with the stolen election and the E.U. trying to lock everyone up because of a flu virus and trying to outlaw internal combustion engines because of the C02/man made climate change hoax to make a few bankers rich with the cap&trade scam...I feel for the younger generations who will have to live in a Soviet Union 2.0 we don't stand up and say enough with all these lies and scams to enrich the already uber-rich...:(
But let's get back as this threat was all about how much the 1290SDR is NOT ready to race...Unless you have a stiff neck and go wide open sunday morning 6 am on the german autobahn...169mph baby...Not bad for a naked bike but why when you could do 20 mph more in comfort on a S1000RR...:P

Maybe Stick and Arsey come down next year and we ride the Baja on the fun side of the wall...:thumb
KTM 1290's are useful on the Baja too as there are a few long and straight stretches giving the ready to race crowd a chance to catch up...:D
Until the M1300GS comes out...;)

hello Mr Boxerlist and yes Praise The Lord for he is our saviour and may he Bless us all Do you believe in the Baby Jesus?
