2020 KTM 1290 Superduke vs 2019 1250 GS-HP

You definitely need to team up with Stick and Warlord ..... :D

Cant argue with that, I mean ... I would ...... :D

I feel for the younger Americans who will have to live in a Soviet Union 2.0. Donald J Trump is reading from the Valdimir Putin's Ladybird book of "How to keep yourself in power by manipulating the media and state institutions

Fixed it for you

I’ve booked the boat.I’ll bring this ;-)

Arsey if I had your money I would get the new V4 Multistrada too....No 17" wheels but 170 hp...:thumb
But Stick probably will still beat you on his pink Silver Dream Racer...:D
If you want to do the Baja I know a guy in Tijuana who rents out 1200GS-ADVs....Way more fun than the NC500 unless you are into scottish long haired cattle but you have to be able to ride on the wrong side of the road...;)

Nah, I won’t be buying a Multistrada. Not my cup of tea.
The only Ducati I’d buy at the moment would be the Streetfighter V4S but that won’t be happening either.
I could bring my Husky ? :-)

A pal bought the Street Fighter V4s this summer. The GS pisses all over it.

So you bring the Panigale to ride the Baja or do you want to go to Streets of Willow ? If you ride the Pani down to C.S.L. you could be the new Nick Sanders who rode Ford F-150 last time with all these Brits on Boxers having the ride of their lifetimes going all the way to Ushuaia...
As for the 200hp V-4 Street-whatever...Same problem as the 1290SDR...Too upright to take advantage off all that power and not enough windprotection...Useless on road & track....:thumb
The V-4 Multi or S1000XR at least look like a real alternative for people who can live without a 1250 boxer, shaftdrive or Telelever...;)
Until the M1300GS comes out...17" wheels and 170hp...:thumby:

And, are they doing an adventure model too? You know, so that we can stay out for longer when we are handing those sportsbike riders their asses on a plate
I reckon the Telelever could direct the extra kgs straight down through that front tyre... Really pin it to the ground whilst still remaining more flickable than a Moto 2 bike. I'm in

Nutty to answer your question when the M1300GS is coming ?
My crystal ball says that there will be one more year of the R1250GS...2022 will the last year of the new for 2013 R1200GS-LC generation.10 years is a long and successful run so in Oct 2022 we see the all new R1300 boxer generation. I expect it will be big to celebrate 100 Years of BMW Motorrad - 1923 / 2023 :thumby:
More power - less weight and a more street oriented XR version of the GS trade marked M1300GS to possibly replace the R1250R/RS that sell in relatively low numbers possibly because they have the cheaper stone-age fork instead of te way better performing Telelever...See the recent article in MOTORRAD a 1250GS-ADV beating a 40 kilos lighter and stickier rubber soled R1250R on a go kart looking track...Telelever rules...:thumby: Stupid of BMW to leave it off the R1200/1250R/RS making the GS the default winner !

If you really want a 170BHP GS I'm sure a tuning company would convert one for you.

I'm fairly certain we won't ever see a production GS that puts out 170bhp. The new "performance 4 cylinder" models don't put out 170bhp (RR excepted), so I doubt they'll aim for higher figures from their boxer twin. I reckon it's more likely that we will see progression towards electric.

I'd rather they went back to producing better quality bikes that last the distance without focusing on pissing-contest figures. My fewer than 4k miles 1250 continues to gather dust as a large and useless ornament owing to very poor production and communication values.
