My first Honda since I sold my TL125 here a few years ago - I rode my new to me 2022 Goldwing home from Blackpool to the Midlands yesterday. On a chilly day and arguably under dressed for the job, I felt that a little more weather protection would have been handy. I could fit the Tour screen, but I was wondering if there’s anything between the two, as I do like the look of the bike with a smaller screen.
Is there an online, UK based group that’s an equivalent to this one? It would be great to pick up the odd thing second hand if the condition and price is right, plus hints and tips to get the best out of the bike.
Cheers
Congrats.
Is it the fastest colour like this ?
I bought the tall (ie standard screen fitted to the Tour) screen as part of a pack for my bike, but I find it a bit too tall as I’m looking through it , and even on the lowest setting it’s about 2 inches too tall to see clearly over.
I’ve only used it once away (I live in Guernsey ) and it was brilliant in the cold and wet . Only issue was in the rain , the rain drops make it more difficult to see through . I also had planned to get it cut down about 3 inches but the guy supposed to do it let me down , so I lost interest .
I’ve done three long trips on mine now -twice to Spain and France and once to Germany/Austria and I use the short screen which I leave fully up .
Anyway, utterly great bikes . Love mine and it’s a keeper as long as I can manage it , which is pretty easy to be fair .
How many miles on the bike ?
It’s worth re syncing the DCT every few 1000.
It’s easy and takes less than five minutes .
Have the bike at operating temperature , ie warm but not hot .
Put it on main stand and all switched off .
Hold down the D button as you power on the bike .
Then press DDNDN in that order and the gear indicator (which should be showing N) should blank with a line instead of the N .
Now start the bike and you’ll hear the gears start to click.
Takes less than 2 minutes normally . When done the N will reappear .
You don’t need to do it but it makes the gear changes like butter , as after time they obviously somehow go slightly out of sync .
