£16k is a tad salty and haven’t got room in the garage, otherwise………

Obviously 99% of those on here will hate it, as is the British way with anything that doesn’t conform..

I saw a shit load of the old model once, all stickered up with sponsorship, being used as pursuit bikes or whatever for a cycle race

Apart from that I’ve only ever seen one or maybe two on the road over here, as opposed to 3 wheeled scooters which are plentiful

I’m surprised they haven’t stopped making them to be honest, I don’t think they’ve got their development money back

Don't know much about them. Do they stand up themselves when you stop or do you still have to put your feet down ?

Still need to put feet down.
But the handling is supposedly stunning even in the wet .

UK Yamaha dealers must be hoping they don't get pressed to take on any Niken inventory.

Maybe a 50% discount might shift a few; otherwise it's the answer to a question few bikers were asking, aka 'brave'.

I'd imagine the Super Tenere engine would make this a far better proposition.

S20 5G sent this......

I believe you also have to use the side stand when you get off the bike, which surprised me.
One of the East Midlands club members has one and really enjoys it.
FWIW (nothing) I really like them.

not so sure about the parallel twin engine - I have owned both S10 1200 & a Tracer with the 900 C3

a shaft drive would certainly make it more interesting but probably push the price up to 18k.

Yamaha seems to have ditched shaft drive though, despite having the best & most reliable one on the market.

I could maybe understand them if they stood up on their own I thought there was one that did that ?

Why ?
The triple in the Niken is fabulous.
What would be even better would be the cross plane beauty from the MT10

It does Doc there is one in A&D Denbigh a bike shop near me. Its a 2018 with 19k miles on it for £6k. In the showroom its up on a plinth ( stood up )and looks even more “ transformer” . I also saw one in the wild about two weeks ago outside Chester

I’d have one possibly, it needs to have the ability to stay upright at standstill.
I do wonder what happens when it reaches the limit of its lean, it’s either going to lift the outside wheel and go off at a tangent or traverse an arc great than desired…

I think that's fabulous and would love to try one.

I've looked on their website and the bike is on it's sidestand. Maybe when it was on the plinth they supported it from above and had it upright

I loved it. But...
Few issues are now solved. Dash was a nightmare and you couldn't adjust the screen on the go. I see those two are now solved. You can also lower the bike and even get mud flaps. Front wheels cover you in shit.
It was expected but for some reason Yamaha didn't do it. You can't lock the steering when you come to a stop. So the bike falls over like a normal bike.
I see that the large panniers are extra. You still have to go in the menu to turn on the heated grips.
Comes only in gloss black.
Depreciation is a killer. Brand new GT last year was just under £10000. £5000 off the list price.
Took the bike out on a wet day in purpose and took it down really badly surfaced roads. This is where the bike shines. Potholes do not cause any major drama. You can lean the bike 45 degrees any further and you come off. There is a video on YouTube how to do that.
The new price is £16200+top box+large panniers £700+ heated seats if you want £400. So over £17000. Second hand a bargain.
Having a RS coming soon.

Tried the Mk1, or rather i never got to try the mk1,

It was too tall, the dealer didn't care, he just wanted me to sign on the line, and get a tick in the test ride quota

i left it on the forecourt

I thought it had ceased production

I think this new 2023 bike could be a great buy in a year or so at £10k or less .
