2024 Attendees

Numbers equate to the Zones in the bottom left corner of the page. They are the areas within France that will be on holiday, we have staggered holidays to try and prevent even bigger traffic jams. Depart means when they leave that area and Retour when they go back to it.
Thank you for your clarification.

So first pack list done and cross checked

So need to get it into a pile ready for packing next weekend

11.00 pm sailing for us sunday night the 4th Aug, no doubt there will be many French motorcyclists at the port going back to France from the GP.

Hi Sid,

I hope you get back OK, I'm travelling from Devon. I shall be arriving on Tuesday, hopefully around lunchtime, on my motorbike. I'll be camping and I'll eat anything, like to drink wine or beer but I'm not fussy.

all the best,

John

Final countdown!

Only seven days to go so a few updates.

The local roads have all received that shite surface dressing of loose gravel. It is still dangerous in places so please take care on the last 20 miles.

Apart from that, it's good news.

Our chef, Simon aka Sumprat, arrives tomorrow, Saturday and will be chained to the bbqs for the next two weeks.

The games room has been cleaned up (by Ann as I'm still too weak to do much) and four matresses put down.

The swimming pool is looking good. I hope to have plenty of daft inflatables to play with including the infamous inflatable Harley.

Ann has also managed to fix my karaoke machine for the Saturday night.

The garden is getting sorted with a few new shelters to be put up once we have enough people to help.

it is very hot here at the moment at 32° but will go to 39° on the Sunday. Kin hot!
So don't forget the swimming trunks. Don't worry we will have plenty of cold drinks and icecreams.

Inflatables, I have something somewhere.

If any of you are thinking of heading down the M20 be advised that the whole of the westbound carriageway is blocked off for a long way and it's 50 mph for mile after mile on the section of the eastbound carriageway they move you over to.
Might be Operation Stack stuff? :nenau

Might be Operation Stack stuff? :nenau
Been like it for months now and it is 50mph both ways.

Thanks. I’m about to load up and set off, but glad I’m going from Newhaven now…

Hi Sid just got back from unplanned overnight stay in hospital and now have another scan booked for Sunday so really sadly won’t be able to be along.

I do hope you have a great time and they all behave well.
I hope you recuperation continues well and you get some much needed rest when the last dust disappears down your drive.
Sorry to not be able to be along this year.
Dane

I am not attending this event but as an onlooker I'm struck by the remarkable generosity of Sid and Ann, even encouraging people to request specific drinks to be available.

I just needed to say that, and make the hosts aware that their generosity is recognised way beyond just the attendees.

Have a fabulous time everyone who goes, and travel safely.
