2024 Himalayan 450

Just back from the Manx. Suffice to say, the Himmie did not set any records on the TT course. It did however manage 238 miles on a single tank on the return journey home. Most of that was cruising at 70 -75 on the M6.
How accurate is your fuel gauge? On my 411 Himmy, I wouldn’t dare doing that distance or risk it as the gauge is very inaccurate after half the tank is empty.

Good question. I'd say it's spot on. I had my GPS mounted also and the mileage agreed at every stage of the trip. The countdown was at 1 mile when I got home and I've gone 20 beyond that on a previous test. I'm pretty confident you'd get to 250 quite easily.

The 411 and 450 Himmies are two completely different generations of bikes. I liked my 411 but it was just not in the same league when it came to instrumentation.

Just to add that I arrived at Liverpool from the island. The Steam Packet have a new berth there so I used the navigation feature on the rider display to navigate my way from there to the M6. I also used a wee trick Id been unaware of previously: if you press the mode button on the right handle bar for 4 seconds, the navigation is mirrored there with a full map. other essential information is reduced to the lower section of the screen.

It all worked perfectly. Who needs an A-jockey? :D

I have ordered a new one. I was not sure whether to go for the Honda 350 or not but cost and the type of off roading (and a little bit of i have never had a RE before) made me go for the Himmy. looking forward to getting to grips with a thumper again....
