2024 V-Strom 800 RE

A good review of a great bike.
If only it had cruise……

I don’t know what “lug it” means but when I worked in the motor trade running in meant not over revving the engine and not allowing the engine to labour. Pretty much short gear changes really.

The RE just needs cruise and a better screen and it would be perfect .The motor is probably the best of any 800cc fitted to any bike, despite what the spec sheet says.

my nearest bike dealer sells Suzuki and I sat on an RE. A good fit but I declined the test ride. It is the lack of cruise that put me off. I have arthritic fingers joints so cruise means longer in the saddle if I can release the throttle grip now and then e.g. going through a village.

I agree …..BUT…..cruise can be fitted for around £235 delivered

How to install

It looks neat

And given that you can get a big discount on a new RE, that’s what I’d be doing had I not bought the Voge.

This one’s about £1200 off

I just want to go to a shop and say, "I want one of those" and ride away with a bike ready to tour. The updated Tiger Sport in 600 or 800 guise are in the top spots, subject to actually riding one. Hopefully, Suzuki will see the competition and add the device already in use on the big Vstrom.
