2027 KLX 300 XPL

The American market doesn’t seem to have the same snobbery/discrimination towards Kawasaki that some UK riders have.
I have a soft spot for Kawasaki’s, almost always undeservedly underrated. But those who know, know. 😉

The majority of the Vstrom 650’s reputation regarding reliability/capability for long distance adventure touring (not enduro!) was built up in America where practicality mattered more than image.

Their sports bikes for the streets seem to fare better too with a good following.

Edit just noticed their pricing which is a bit optimistic compared with the competition so maybe it not financially viable to pitch it here in the UK?

ref my comment on pricing in the previous post it is annoying to see the difference in UK pricing and that of America and Australia where these are more popular.

The quoted basic price for all three countries varies as the tax etc is worked out differently.
But when you do the calculations to adjust for this to get what we know as the on the road price, these KLX300 EPL’s are selling over there brand new for the equivalent of about £4,700

At that price they would fly out the door here in the Uk.

And also at that price if you wanted to do a few months riding round America you’d have to be tempted to just buy a new KLX over there and selling up when you return. Got to be cheaper than renting?

Still, could be worse, in Norway probably around £7,000

This looks very much like a facelift/capacity lift of the 2009 KLX 250 that Denise has. Frame looks identical, plastics a little more modern, engine very similar.
Forks look better, which would be a bonus. This is not a criticism btw, the KLX is a great little "TRAIL" bike with a lovely gearbox and a quiet engine with enough power to get you out and about. What it isn't is an enduro weapon, and the Yank forums are full of folks trying to make it into one. Give it a couple of weeks and they will be bringing out a big bore kit for it. :blast

The Voge 300 Rally and Rieju 307 Rally use a Loncin version of the KLX engine (with the Rieju being more highly tuned). To the extent that Loncin engine cases oil filters etc are cross compatible, due to a tie up in China between Kawasaki and Loncin. The Kawasaki and its engine are built in Thailand as far as I know?
