Shame at the start there’s the pretence and all the talk to try and give the impression it’s all been, and going to be spontaneous without any storyboard planning. No need for that in my opinion and devalues it a

I know marketing works but I could never be involved in such a wankfest.
That trip had as much adventure as a shopping trip to Tescos by someone with OCD
And they could have done that tripon a 15 year old CRF 250 Rally and it would have been 99% as good
I’m far more likely to visit Bosnia now than I am to buy a KTM

At today’s lunch stop I had a chat with Mr Birch re his initial thoughts on the bike.
He said he’d been quite disparaging about the 690 in the past but felt this new model has been upgraded across the board, not just the additional tanks and nav tower / screen.
He said the gearbox was much better and the whole bike felt more nimble. He was very impressed. ( though he’s a brand ambassador so I suppose he might say that anyway).
Look forward to test riding one in the flesh.
I’m betting it comes in around £12k which is too much for me but ho hum.

Then it’s another £1200 by the time you’ve added Tech Pack, heated grips and rear rack etc .

I've just bought the 390 Adventurer R and it's fantastic. I paid around £6,400 with the quick shifter, the 690 will be very good but is really worth another £5,000 on top of the 390?

Sounds a great buy and a stunning looking bike

690 have got expensive, wicked fun bikes though the suspension and performance is top notch - one of those bikes I'm glad they still make (seat is pure enduro though - aka torture rack).

Probably not .

Bit like the X-ADV not being worth double the price of the ADV350.

But I’d really like the new Rally. Just can’t justify it really as would use it onroad 90% of the time like I did with my 701LR.
And my Vstrom 800 does a similar job .

Would be great though with a Renazco seat




Spoke to James and he could easily do one without raising the OE seat height .
