It’s down to personal taste .This, or a CB1000GT for another £200? And it comes with panniers.
Under 200kg? In your dreams I’m sorry to say, but I reckon it will be perhaps a little heavier than the Tracer9 but lighter than the Honda. No indication of the weight on the K website or MCN preview. Needs to be under 200kg to garner interest from those looking at the Tiger Sport.
The problem I find with many bikes is they start off as a tiny little naked, then put 2-3 foot long bar risers on the thing and call it a tourer / adventure bike, and when I sit on it the bars seem OK, but my legs are no better off than on my 1988 TZR250.This, or a CB1000GT for another £200? Try the V Strom 800RE. "Only" 82 bhp but it feels like 110. The engine is a peach. The problem I find with many bikes is they start off as a tiny little naked, then put 2-3 foot long bar risers on the thing and call it a tourer / adventure bike, and when I sit on it the bars seem OK, but my legs are no better off than on my 1988 TZR250.
When the KTM 790 came out I thought it might be good for the Mrs, but even she said it was way too cramped, and we ended up with a 1090 for her to tour on....
...Still searching for a genuine replacement for her TDM900 which is comfortable, roomy enough, has loads of low-mid range and enough top end for the odd brisk multi-car overtake, the Versy may just fit the bill.
The TDMs are great do it all's and were years ahead of the game; but as you say the new Versy may just be the one;; i'am suprised she has'nt found anything in the Mt09 range; although comfort might not be as good as her TDM. 200klo and a 100 rear wheel bhp is the sweet spot; even more so these days. The problem I find with many bikes is they start off as a tiny little naked, then put 2-3 foot long bar risers on the thing and call it a tourer / adventure bike, and when I sit on it the bars seem OK, but my legs are no better off than on my 1988 TZR250.

Seconded, though I prefer the DE versionTry the V Strom 800RE. "Only" 82 bhp but it feels like 110. The engine is a peach.

Centre stand should be standard equipment on a sports tourer not a mark up add on; i suppose you have one fited to the standard model and keep it under £11,000 that wiuld be a start; personally i'am not bother about the radar; the spotlights ; the rim tape and a few other bits and bobs; but that's me.
The problem is they still think we want to ride offroad and fit a fucking ferris wheel up front, I can leave with a 19" and happy with longer than sportsbike travel for comfort an "all roads" ability, but no chance I am going to wrestle a 200+ KG bike offroad.Try the V Strom 800RE. TBH only rode a much earlier tracer, I found it quite "Buzzy" hopping off a big twin, seemed to be a real rev monster with very little bottom end and a screaming top end - not M1000RR, but way down in th emid range on the TDM which pulls bloody nicely from 3,000rpm - feels almost like a Turbo Diesel in the way it packs the punch in the low-mid range.
