21 inch front wheel

If this has been done to death i apologize in advance, has anyone here with a non abs 1200gs converted their front wheel from 19 to 21 inches? if so what sort of improvement if any have you found riding off road.

R1150GS 21 inch wheel

I had a 21 inch front wheel fitted to my R1150GS ADV. It replaced the standard 19inch wheel. I did a few off road weekends throughout Europe. I often wondered what the difference would be with a larger wheel. I had seen this conversion before in the Netherlands.
I found the 21 inch front wheel much smoother than the 19 inch over all rough ground and very big holes. It also seemed more forgiving on very soft muddy ground and sand. The hub was an original new R1150GS hub with a new BMW 21 inch BEHR rim professionally built around it by Devon Rim Company. The bearings for the hub were pressed in by my BMW dealer. It had a tubeless TKC80 tyre fitted.
My bike had ABS, the sensor ring fitted onto hub via the brake discs as on the 19 inch hub, you just swap them over. I hope this helps. I have since sold the GS and ordered a BMW HP2, this has a 21 inch front wheel.

Thanks for your help, a friend of mine who suggested that I convert a 1200gs to a 21 inch wheel just traded his 1150 for an HP2 and is really happen with the new bike. Mike is a machinist or something like that by trade and is making small fuel tanks to fill on to the side of the bike.
