Anyone have an idea of the cost at a BMW dealer for a 25000 service on an 1150, and whats involved....

May splash out.. ;)

You mean a 24K mile service -

usual 12K service, with a scheduled fuelfilter change - could be from £250, upto £400 from BM dealer

I paid £255  at Allan Jefferies in January. As far as I remember, that was just a service and no extras. 25,000 is a main service. Usually pay around £150 for an interim job.

My service book says it's 40,000km, which is 25,000 miles. Not that I would dare argue with you Mr Steptoe :D

Dunno about your book, but my 1100 ones say 40,000km/24,000 miles - at which point a BMW Inspection is due.

Services are every 6K miles. Minor every 6k , with a major every 12K

which adds up to 24K :D :D

Thanks Chaps.. Does this one include a valve clearance check? I've changed the fuel filter last year anyway, and put a new air filter in a couple of months ago..

Just trying to decide if its worth doing ;)

WTF could they possibly do to justify £250 - £400? I've just been quoted £277 for a major service on my Subaru and that includes fitting new cambelts.

Nope. In the service book for a 2002 1150 GS ABS (Part No. 01 41 7 663 671) they alternate between "service" and "inspection" with a gap of 10,000km between each. Despite the name, the inspection is the major one.

10,000km = 6,250 miles. 4x6,250 = 25,000. :D :D :D Got to get these things right. They are important. :P

Bryn, the service book gives details of what should be covered at each event.

Rob, I think it depends where you live. I paid £255 for 25,000 miles (and I thought that was expensive).

Already done the fuel filter change, had a new air filter, bled the front brakes.. perhaps that will lower the price a bit!

Thanks for all the advice :thumb

Why not do it yourself
its not so difficult ,
I will be happy to set the tappets for you if you want
If you have already done the fuel filter that will save a fair bit of time
