I have a streetpilot 2610 which has been faultless for 2 yrs while being used on the bike and in the car and in my HGV but it has now lost is voice. Their is no sound output through either the car lead or the bike set up yet the unit works great in every other way.

I contacted Garmin although it is out of warranty and they wanted £140 to send it to Southampton for a service.

Please advise...

Thanks in advance Bob

Worth asking them but I think you'll find that a service is actually a service exchange which will be an 'as good as new' factory refurb replacement complete with all the bits and up to date mapping. Might make it a little easier to swallow the £140 hit. As I say, give them a ring to confirm that this is the case if that's the way you're going to go.

Alternatively are you sure you haven't inadvertently turned the volume down via the menus?

You can also pick one up on ebay, lots of people upgrading, would cost less than £140

The volume adjustment via the menu is correct and adjustable, their is just no output.

OK, how about the contacts on the back of the unit and the lead?

Just looking for the obvious.... :) You might have already been there...
