Just completed a trip with pillion and overloaded Holan panniers
Some Facts
1. 2800 miles, average 44 mph at 51 mpg.....remember Norway has low speed limits and enormous fines.
2. No oil used.
3. Max recorded speed 135 mph.....
4. 98 ron yielded 10% better mpg compared to 95 ron.
5. Seat good for 200 miles, bruised bum syndrome after some long days.
Some observations.
1. The new engine is a belter when the revs exceed 5000, 6000 and more...it takes off and other oil head riders commented.
2. The bike is very easy to turn in and a doddle at low speed despite the overloaded boxes.
3, The gear box is better at clutchless changes but drags the gears if the clutch is used over 6000 rpm......clutch is featherlight.
4. On one congested mountain pass ( full of cruise ship passengers in coaches ) the oil head bikes had overheat problems in 25c weather but the LC was OK.
5. The screen needs to be 2" wider but aero is a big improvement.
6. The LED lights and spots are very bright and annoyed some approaching traffic.
7. The ergo is fine if a little knee cramped for 6' 2" rider.
8. Exhaust note gets entertaining at high revs.
9. Few riders realised it was a LC GS.
10 The Reindeer were neutral and ignored the bikes.
Norway is expensive at £10 for a beer, ouch.

A wonderful road which I did last year on my K1600. Luckily the coaches were absent.
