I have recently bought a 2820 and sold my 2610, thinking I was upgrading to a superior unit and future proofing myself with NT mapping, but am starting to regret this…. :blast

With the 2610 you can list your waypoints, pick one and navigate to it. This was really handy if you were following a rout and time was getting short or the weather turned foul, you could just head back to your hotel, or wherever else you had waypointed.
I’m buggered if I can figure out how to list the waypoints and do this on the 2820, unless I have also saved all the waypoints as “favourite locations”.

Am I missing something or is this just another “improvement” between the 2610 and the 2820?

I'm afraid that you are half-future-proofed. New European countries are being mapped and added all the time. The 2820 is not big enough to take the whole of Europe ("Full Europe") any more (according to Garmin support this afternoon). Any extra mapping required is there ready for use in Mapsource and can be sent to the unit, and this may require removal of the existing mapset if the unit is full. That mapset can be put back at a later date.

I understand and appreciate your point about the 2610, but have not found it a problem in practice with my 2820 (but I do ride an RT not a GS!).
