3 Things the 1250 GS needs... !

Could maybe just make the 6th gear ratio, and possibly 5th too, a little higher. With all that torque you don't need more gears, in fact could manage with less.

Exactly that Fred, as for me bike has all it needs already, bit like computers, who actually except a few riding gods uses all the power.

Me. I load up 100 tabs on pornhub at a time.

Thank God the great majority of GS riders want a GS, not a super sports bike that looks like a GS. It's unfortunate that this forum seems to now have more members of the latter group

99.9999999 ...... of riders on the road, or off-road, don't even come close to using the capabilities of the bikes they own, whatever it is.

The "BMW need to make a 150/200hp GS" brigade are invariably sports bike riders who have jumped on the GS bandwagon, not riders who want a "real, do it all" GS.

Here here! :thumb2

A capable rider can keep up most sports bikes on a GS anyway as it really isn’t safe or sensible to try and use the extra power you can get from a sports bike on UK roads....

I actually believed the HP2 sport I had was the ultimate incarnation of the boxer twin until I rode the 1250.....

Buy a Ducati or KTM if you are after that kind of power. Or just fuckoff.

@ DC ; To answer your question,Yes and yes...:D
I might trade the GSA on a regular GS or GS with sports-suspension to see if it makes a difference at high speed.I mean if the big tank causes a lift at high speeds.
And yes a lot of GS riders today come from sport-bikes and have seen the light that a real sportbike makes only sense on a track...
But less weight would be welcomed by all GS riders and more power is always fun and keeps it from getting boring...the 1250 definitely was a step in the right direction ! But S1000XR type performance should be the goal and would finally be enough...:thumby:
Like I said 1400 cc would give reliable, relatively low rpm high torque HP ! BMW is almost there another 50-75 cc per cylinder and a little more top end making 150-160 hp @ 8500 rpm and it would be the perfect powerplant for the street...
For people who don't want this there is always the option to buy a totally boring Afreeka Twin...or the CMW F850GS that at least has tubeless wheels...;)
So it's all good !

The 1250GS needs the same 3 things as my 1200GS:

Petrol in the tank, air in the tyres and the open road. :thumb

As far as I'm concerned, both the 1200 and 1250 are already great bikes and top of their class. Still, I think they could be improved by adding:

1 Reverse which could be electric using the starter motor just to help getting out of difficult situations, similar to various other bikes.

2 Retro illuminated switches in either green or red colour, never white as Ducatti did.

3 Heated seats

1. 145 bhp ?
2. 155 bhp ?
3. 165 bhp ?

NO IT F*CKING DOESN'T NOR DOES IT NEED 17" WHEELS OR LASER CANNONS OR JET ASSIST PACKS AND BLOODY WINGS.

Mind you better build quality or perhaps quality suspension,a decent bloody seat or heated grips that work wouldn't go amiss

I had to laugh,I talked to two guys yesterday at Seahouses with all the latest hot stuff a Suzy and S1000 and asked them what next, one said in all seriousness “a car”.
