Not done one of these before, but thought I'd put up a few pics from our our recent trip in Europe if anyone's interested in having a look.
On the tunnel Sat 25th August as per usual, a little wet and bloody windy
Met a fellow Tosser, David, on here as Worthingwelsh,on his way to meet his mate in Belgium, another couple on a GS going to Croatia, and a guy on yet another GS popping down to Germany to see his parents. You couldn't move for the bloody things.
Uneventful trip through France aiming for Dun sur Meuse. Campsite was full of reptile circus
and couldn't see many bars so we moved on to Verdun. Found a nice campsite, set up, had a few beers and cooked up a tomato, garlic and chillie pasta. Washed down with a couple of bottles of red/Rose.
weather not good on day 2 as we rode into Germany,no real picture opportunities. Did stop for a bite to eat, bloody nice kebab from roadside cafe..............I take her to all the best places
For Day 3 wanted to get down to lake Orta in Northern Italy, where we planned to stay for a few days.
Weather much better today although a little chilly early on.So stopped for a coffee on lake Schuchsee.
Then on down the 500 towards and into Switzerland.
At this point the mrs starts to take pics from the back while on the move.
The Alps come into view in the distance
still in the lowlands.
The first 30 or so miles in Switzerland was a little frustrating as you tend to ride from one village almost then immediately into the next one.Now the Swiss do like to obey the speed limits and from what I had heard this is advisable, but feck me they don't just throttle off as they come to the 30 zone they drive all be it at only about 50mph then when they come to the 50kph sign they slam on the brakes.
It's also weird to be riding along as atrain is coming towards you only feet from the kerb
Moving closer now to the mountains.
Takes a while doing this doesn't it? Will be back with more!
