3 Weeks 5138km to Bosnia and Back

Hello there
Just thought I'd share a few fotos of the big trip me mate and meself made to Bosnia and back.
I'm from Dublin Ireland and me mate is from Townsville Australia and we workin in Rotterdam.
Thats us there

We decided just to drive and see where the road takes us, but of course we where heading towards Bosnia so we knew where the road would take us eventually.

The first night we went camping in Bastogne in Belgium.

We got drunk at the Bar talkin to a couple of English bikers who where on there way somewhere, good laugh.

Next day we got up packed up and headed down thru Luxembourg and into France for a small bit and up into Switzerland and here is the first of many tunnels.

Which lead down the valley to the first Irishbar, here was great The owner was pleased to see us Gave us free Guiness and Whiskey and a T-Shirt, I was saying how good the Guiness was When he ran out the back and came back with the keg to show me that it was Real Guiness made in Dublin, and thats why it tasted so good.

Next day with a bit of a head on me,
I woke up thinking it was raining, but it was only the little stream next to the hotel.

I thought the hotel really liked its rock music , but it was a gun not a guitar the dude in the
stained glass was holding.

We set off again on our little trip.

It started to look like it was going to rain.

So we stopped for a coffee and a pice of apple cake or something like that.

It rained for a few minutes then it was sunny again.

I'm really interested in this as this is next years trip for wifey and I.

Can you please include details of the necessary paperwork, border issues if any and where you went

Plan is to go through Bosnia, Serbia and Croatia

Campsites or hotels, costs, etc etc. Cheers, look forward to the rest of it!

We followed the road thru the mountains

And it brought us to some lake

It was still warm, something to do with the summer I reckon.
We continued on along the lake till we got tired and found a hotel next to the lake with a lake view.Had our dinners and a few drinks at the local bar which was empty so we got a few takeaway beers and headed back for a rest after the long days ride.

It must have been the beer but we both took loads of fotos of this lake.

The next day we headed off again up into the mountains.

It was not too warm up there in the mountains which made a nice change to melting down in the valley.

we even got to see some snow

Thats at the top of the pass Grimzelpass I think

We had some dinner and a rest and then headed down towards Milan and across to Lake Garda at a place called Sirmione, it took ages and when we entered Italy we took to the motorway to try gain some distance, and thats when I witnessed the worst drivers I have ever seen, Doin 130km and they are passing me on the motorway leaving only the thickness of me jeans between me and the feckin cars, mad drivers.
So after a life and near death drive we got to Sirmione and found a camping site and after a wash headin down to town

Next we headed towards Venice and up to Triste to cross into Croatia.
It was like an advertisement for why to get a Garmin or TomTom, we got lost in Trieste, a shithole of a town it felt like when its warm and yer lost.
No fotos of that place.
Found the way and made it to Croatia to Porec our first stop.
Crossing the border was Just a matter of showing the passports and smiling alot.

Now we went there to try find some sweedish backpackers but these will do

On the road on the coast In croatia was cool, nice drive.

After Porec we headed down the coast to Satorina to catch the ferry to Pag and to a town called Novalja.

The island looked a bit dry but I knew they had bars

We rented some bikes and cycled to the night club

Very modern clubs they have there with all the essentials

Next day with a bit of a hangover we headed off down the coast and had to stop for a wee rest

Heading to sunny Split it started to Rain big time

Here is a foto of Split when the Romans used it as a party town for some roman union boss man,

Nice place in the old city center with loads of trendy bars and cafe's

Live music of sorts

And cool little bars down nearly all side streets

While in split we booked a day rafting in Omis, that was cool .we were lucky enough to get two young girlies from Norway in our boat

Also in the other boat Daddy and Son and the man that steers the boat

The water in the river was warm enough but the water falling from the cliffs was ice cold.

At this part we climbed into one of the caves and swam thru ice water to climb up into a waterfall and out the other side.

Freezin me nuts off here in the ice shower

And back into the warmt of the sun

After a couple of days resting and checkin out the sites we headed off down the road again

One of the fella's steerin the boats said he has never seen such white legs,
I told him that this was an Irish suntan and in Ireland most of us go as brown as a pint of milk in the summer.

Here is me getting cold water down me back and into the crack of me arse

That night we went drinkin again ,thirsty work all that rowin

we met this American couple very nice people half Irish German Scotish welsh and some other things.
And believe it or not ,yer man worked via via for the same company as us doin offshore drilling. He knew some of the folks we know from work.
Had a laugh chattin with them.

There is me lookin for me breakfast.

Still lookin , and its warm.

This foto was takin from a natural wonder, standing here in an archway leading from this square to the sea there was a cool wind blowin strongly which was great .

Look what I found ,but didn't go there it was lookin like a sausage factory at that time.

We sat at this bar watchin a couple playing in the water, then she ran out and the dude had to wait a while checkin down to see if it was safe or not to leave the water.
