This is the ‘S’ that adds semi-active suspension to the base V2 and the Travel variant that includes panniers, heated grips and a centre stand. Also has the optional turn by turn navigation (shows directions on the dash from a phone app) and, for peace of mind and to keep insurance companies slightly happier, a Biketrac tracker and Datatag security.

All the usual features we come to expect too - riding modes, suspension modes, cruise control, adjustable screen, quick-shifter, DRLs etc.

3 weeks old and has covered only 212 miles. Supplied new to me by Ducati North London in Watford, registered 04/09/26. Balance (all but a month) of the 4 year Ducati warranty which includes EU-wide breakdown cover. Obviously comes with both keys, all documents etc. I’ve just settled the finance on it to make private sale easier.

As-new condition – been ridden only in the dry for a total of less than 5 hours.

It’s a fantastic bike to ride (I much preferred it to the V4), however the riding position has turned out to cause me extreme and persistent hip and lower back pain which unfortunately wasn’t apparent from the test ride. The most expensive 212 miles ever…… But there’s no point in me having a touring bike that I can’t tour on.

For sale at £16k. Plenty more photos available.

Surely it's worth trying to change the bar/seat/peg positions to suit you better?

Lovely bike, you must be gutted

GLWS if you have to

I’ve experimented with bar positioning and seat height/angle (high front/low rear and the opposite) all to no avail. I think it’s mainly peg position relative to the seat that’s the issue and there’s not sufficient scope to move them enough to make a difference without drastic surgery which I feel is a step too far on a brand new bike.

I had a Speed Triple previously that I could do 9 hour days on without any pain but I missed a fairing. Wish I’d kept it and not tried to go fancy…

Gutted? Absolutely 😢

Very bad luck. On the bright side, it's a very desirable bike and would, I assume, go quickly if put on Autotrader. Good luck with the sale (y)

Maybe try the Ducati Forum as well.

The V2 is probably what I will get next time as a friend has one and waxes lyrical about it, but I’m still enjoying the Rally V4.

I’ve racked up 25k on my Rally. Time to move it on before the warranty expires. Been great for long, overseas mixed-terrain trips but a bit tall and heavy for me in normal UK road use.

Debating between V4S and V2S. Had V4S before and loved it. Only tried new 890 engine in DX, so looking forward to tying V2S.

Test rides on Tuesday…

I had the same problem with a K1600 GT. Bought one after a short test ride then found I couldn’t use it due to severe hip pain.
Traded it for a 1300 GS and never had the problem again 🤷‍♂️ GLWS.

It is on Autotrader at the supplying dealer's recommendation. There are a few on there at a similar price (many of them ex-demo) but none on a 76 plate.
Go back and chat with dealer?

Perhaps they may have something else in stock that a deal can be worked out on??
I have talked to them. They did say that there would be more leeway on what they'd pay me for the Ducati if I bought something else from them as a reverse part exchange. They are a Ducati/Triumph dealer. There is nothing new from either manufacturer that would suit me (I tried the Tiger Sport 800 before the Multi - hated it. Also tried a Tiger 800 GT - didn't like that much either) and nothing used either. They will buy the bike back but not for a price that I could stomach. I may look next at a Ninja 1000/1100SX - On Yer Bike have both a Kawasaki and Ducati franchise which may give me options but putting the Ducati back into the dealer network will be a bigger loss however I do it than selling privately while also limiting my options for what I replace it with.

Those were the two models I tried, back to back. The V4 felt like a V2 expanded (height, weight) by 10-20% and obviously with more power but all a bit too much for regular riding. The Rally must be even more so. On the same route I found the V2 more enjoyable to ride - I could use more of its potential more of the time while still having plenty in reserve. Enjoy your test rides

Big plus for the Ninja 1000 SX, superb bikes, super smooth, comfortable, economical, excellent ride quality, agile handling, reliable and good value too. The 1100 is slightly down on power but has slightly taller gearing and a bit more midrange. Definitely worth a test ride.

I changed my V4S to get the larger fuel capacity/range, both amazing bikes.

I can’t see me getting another GS/GSA, which has only one redeeming feature and that’s the shaft drive. I’ve have five different GS’ and three Multistradas. At 62 I can see my next bike being the V2 Multi

Anyone fancy buying my 2023 Yamaha Tracer9 GT+ so I can buy this Ducati?
A Tracer 9 GT was my second choice (after the Multi) of the various test rides I had. I avoided the + because of the auto box (might not apply to '23 model). I found the Ducati more engaging to ride and although I've never considered the Multistrada an attractive bike, compared to a Tracer 9 (particularly in this year's colours), well.......:p Is yours advertised somewhere?

I never even looked at a Ninja 1100SX or its predecessors. I assumed, wrongly in hindsight, that it had a more sports riding position than it actually does. Missed opportunity there but a possibility for the future.

Mine is December 2023, it’s a GT+ but not an auto box. I haven’t advertised mine yet, I was looking at a Multistrada when I was offered a killer deal by my local Yamaha dealership and a test ride sealed the deal, but I really like this Multi and I think the price is right,

Sproggy I feel for yu mate and have been there many times, have a go on the CB1000GT I am terrible with comfort on bikes, not the only reason I change them weekly but hey ho, the CB with the comfort seat seems to do it for me, Ive had pretty much all the other bikes out there and this one tickles my pickle at the moment, its comfi, fast and handles really well, panniers are good, top bpx is very roomy Im really enjoying it, speak to Paul at Doble MCs in Coulsdon he does do a decent part exchange price if you think its something you fancy, Andy at Miles Kingsport is a close 2nd for part ex prices have a go on one im sure you would like it I got all the packs and the Akrapovic on mine took it up to over £15K but honestly im really enjoying it !! so much so I went out for a 130 mile ride yesterday on my own as riding buddies had other stuff on !!
