Well only done 300 miles & love this bike
It handles very well & is spot on for my riding style + i love the riding position as am use to supermoto / enduro
Was told i would find the gearbox clunky as use to jap but its very good ( i once had a vtr 1000 that was bad)
also the front forks work very well under braking due to lack of dive
Is it true, as i was told today it is on top of the theives wish list

Glad you're enjoying yours as I am mine.

As to the theft risk, I see the GS12 is the 3rd best selling bike in GB this year - So determine the risk regarding theft accordingly - Would GS types buy spares from unofficial sources? I think "No" ...normally...however I have an alarmed garage with ground anchor, formidable lock and chain and highly trained attack cats to protect mine.

Wait until you've done 3,000 miles.

It'll be ten times better.

Theft wise I still think it's not the first choice for bike thieves.

If there is a spate of thefts I would imagine it would soon peter out when the thieves find that there isnt a ready market for back street parts and that potential owners are slightly more careful than perhaps others. I always believed 125s and scooters and easily broken bikes were the ones of choice.

But as it gets more popular who knows...

Who told you that anyway?

Picked up my bike last Saturday - also have done about 300 miles - the RG1200GS really is a great bike, great handling, comfort, ergonomics - also seems very easy to keep clean as most things are easily accesible. Only small irritation is the rattling screen at certain revs - I'll put on my Engineers hat and work out a solution soon.

Put on your search button finger tip first and click that button at the top of the page.......12gs screen rattling is a much reported and easily solved problem ;)
