5 hours.

Hes attacked the tarp with scissors and shown it whos the boss!

Never mess with a tosser!

Apologies for the tardy response.
I'm hoping my ankle is sufficiently recovered from the operation last September to try again soon.
This time I have a cunning plan.
Does your cunning plan involve shock cord (elastic)..? Trust me, it’s a doddle when you do use it to replace the guy lines.

It doesn't at this stage but undoubtedly will when my latest genius idea fails, as it inevitably will. 👍

Bill, I'm happy to come and help you on your next try comrade.

I am experienced in tarpology and can offer help and sarcastic comments.

Forgive my ignorance but when I've looked for shock cord I'm bamboozled by the numerous options.
Would I be correct in thinking Hi-Viz 3mm would be the best option?

Using shock cord is ok but you get quite a lot of movement in the poles and the tarp can end up flapping about creating a fair bit of noise if it’s a tad blustery. Also makes it a bit harder setting up and if there’s too much movement the tarp eyelets can end up popping off the top of the poles.
Using a short length of it as a loop to put tent pegs in with is a better idea. Having a little bit of give in there can stop the tent pegs getting pulled out.

Well it's up. Sort of. I need to figure out quite where I've gone wrong in terms shape but this is a vast improvement on anything I achieved in 5 hours last time.

Massive thanks to everyone for your help so far. I'm particularly indebted to Udders for his erection method which, combined with a YouTube video, got me to this stage.

Time taken: 20 minutes.

Next step, fiddle about with stuff to see if I can get it looking any better.

* I have more photos but they won't load unfortunately, 'File too large'.
