I'm hoping my ankle is sufficiently recovered from the operation last September to try again soon.
This time I have a cunning plan.
Does your cunning plan involve shock cord (elastic)..? Trust me, it’s a doddle when you do use it to replace the guy lines.

Forgive my ignorance but when I've looked for shock cord I'm bamboozled by the numerous options.

Using shock cord is ok but you get quite a lot of movement in the poles and the tarp can end up flapping about creating a fair bit of noise if it’s a tad blustery. Also makes it a bit harder setting up and if there’s too much movement the tarp eyelets can end up popping off the top of the poles.
Using a short length of it as a loop to put tent pegs in with is a better idea. Having a little bit of give in there can stop the tent pegs getting pulled out.

Massive thanks to everyone for your help so far. I'm particularly indebted to Udders for his erection method which, combined with a YouTube video, got me to this stage.
Time taken: 20 minutes.
Next step, fiddle about with stuff to see if I can get it looking any better.

ps it's the wrong colour ( green , camo ,grey , multi tarn ) and it's too big. too many poles.
