Looking at the Garmin 60csx, how much of GB can fit on it? Would need all A,B and unclassified roads as well as tracks etc?

Thanks folks:beerjug:

the 60csx use's microSD cards so if you get a 2 gig one you can fit the whole of Europe on it, so it's going to cover GB roads and a large portion of the TOPO maps.

A 2gb MicroSD card is less than a tenner on ebay.

Onto said card ALL of Topo GB v2 will fit.

Or,

All of City Navigator Europe 2008 NT will fit.

At the moment a 2gb card is the max that a 60csx will take.

got a 4GB in mine. has entire euro 2008 CN NT, all of UK Topo, UK basemap + quite a chunk of UK Bluechart on it.
Hi, I have a 2gb sandisk in mine and boot up and the redraw seem quite slow.
What brand and speed of 4gb card do you have and have you noticed any of my findings??
Thanks

I 'll give that a go I think... MicroSD cards are buttons cheap at the mo'

Bit of a hijack....Sorry. Does the 60csx have voice directions or just an alert tone and pointy arrow...ta

It has visual and audio prompts that are quite clear and are virtually the same as the Quest has when the latter is in battery mode and not connected via the speaker cable.

it's an ordinary sandisk from 7dayshop.

redraw can be a bit slow. i'm not sure if it's slower than when a lower capacity card is installed though. i put it down to slow processor :nenau

i do have UK maps on a 1 or 2GB card, but it would be tricky to do a comparison.

BTW it doesn't talk, just bleeps (which of course, can't be heard on the bike).

Cheers,I may go for the 4gb card now i know it will work.
You can speed up the redraw by :
1,if the unit is a US model load the EuroCSv7,atlantik base map and make sure its selected.
2,use non NT version of CN as the unit does not have to uncompress things
3, turn of the proximity alarms.

Worthwhile having a play with one before you do as it's like a Garmin but different IYSWIM.

BTW if you think of disposing of the 60 :augie

what are your reservations with the zumo?

can't really let the 60 go until i get a replacement. zumo is the only one in the frame.

Not reservations, just it is different. I've had the SP3 / 2610 and 2820 and there's similaritys but also differences. I'd be generalising a bit but I'd say the zumo is a dummed down gps compared to the 2820. That is there's a lot of customisation capabilities on the 2820 that aren't on the zumo. But, you could probably say you don't need the customisation.

Horses for courses, and have you noticed there seems to be more queries about the zumo compared to the others.
