Has anyone had any trouble with the suspension adjuster , no matter which way I turn it it doesn't appear to make any difference

So what are you twiddling?

Preload?
Rebound?

Unfortunately the standard fitment suspension units are crap and always totally shot at anything from 20 to 30,000 miles :nenau

Turning to the right should lift the back end, the left lowers it, mine did.

Twiddling the knob under the tank

We're trying to help you here, try helping yourself ...

The tank is under the seat :blast

If it's the big knob then that'll probably be the preload :thumb

Wind it in and it should stiffen the suspension, out and it will make it soft ...

Bottom line, if it's not making any difference then the unit is knackered

Bottom bottom line is that BMW always fit budget suspension :augie

If you feel little or no resistance when turning it, then it's out of oil/there's air in the adjuster.

Wind it all the way out and take the pipe off the shock unit then fill it best you can with hydraulic jack oil, hold the pipe up, wind it in a bit to disperse as much air as possible and refit, wind it in a touch more to bleed it as much as you can when tightening the pipe back up.

The shocks are rebuildable of it's goosed. I had mine serviced, revalved and added a compression adjuster to the remote reservoir.

Thanks I will try that
