Hi folks,

Don't suppose anyone has any experiences of a flat spot when accelerating?
I bought the bike last year(it's a 2008 model I might add) and rode it everyday.
I didn't notice it last year at all.

The bike is bog standard about 10k on it and i have no history of it's servicing.

Now I was wondering if any ECU upgrades have been required on these? Or other known faults?
It has cut out on me a couple of times when i'v pulled up at junctions. The fuel level was low on one occassion, with the comp indicating 20-30 miles left!

Any suggestions wil be very helpfull.

Now wondering why i sold the 1150.

Cheers S,

That's a good link and it opened up others too.
I'll have a look later on and give it a go.
It wouldn't surprise me, especially after last year, I did 60 miles a day on wet muddy roads to work!

Cheers

Yeah, so it seems.

I've found some very interesting posts elsewhere too. Mainly referring to software upgrades.

I checked the the one way valve on the tank breather hose and it operates ok.

Only thing i'd like to confirm is that it's actually installed correctly. The directional arrow is pointing towards the atmosphere. Thus allowing air out but not in. Does this mean its more of a spill inhibitor rather than a breather??

Is there a breather elsewhere? I'm yet to aqquire a manual!

I've never had a software upgrade carried out on a bike yet. I used to actually carry them out my self when I was a dealership mechanic(cars).
Now i'm at the mercy of the BMW dealers. What should I expect to pay??

By the way, I find this site so usefull. Never under estimate the knowledge and experience of some DIY mechs/riders!!

I think was subject to a recall (or discrete dealer mod when doing other work), either way it was free. If yours hasn't been modded, maybe they'll do it free for you?

It never harms to have the software updated.

It is always my first port of call with oddball running, then I start looking elsewhere.

They are great bikes, I hope you sort her soon.
