A bimble about on the way to Skye

Just as an add on, I wonder if, along with the furthest east, south, west and north points, weather we could include the highest and lowest roads in the mainland UK, anybody know where they are?

Shep

edit: the 'Highest road' title appears to be shared around a bit like 'the oldest pub' claim & the lowest road may turn out to be a tunnel somewhere

When i was a boy :thedummy

The lowest Motorway was the A1 at Chester-Le-Street ( Durham / Funderland boarder ish ) .... :bounce1

Unless it's not now ..... :o

Hey Shep, brill idea. Would love to join you on the Scottish leg of the trip....if you don't mind?

Just over a month to go now.

I'm leaving The Lizard point very first thing (0600ish or earlier if everybody who's coming gets there before that) on Wednesday 6th August, planning to get to Fort William (via Ness point and Dunnet Head) on the Thursday night, that will leave Friday to get to Ardmurchan point and back to Skye.

Should be in the Borders by Wednesday evening if not a little further north, so anybody thinking of joining for the Thursday and on, we will have to swap numbers and make contact at an agreed time/place wednesday night to arrange a meet.

So whos still interested?

When are you planning on heading up to John o' Groats?

Might meet up with you somewhere around Inverness:augie

Going to Dunnet head :thumb not JOG(been there, done that, never again:D), not sure when I will be around Inverness, looks like i'll be on my own as nobody else has confirmed, no worries. If you are interested we can swap mobile numbers and make contact Wednesday night when I stop for a kip.

No other runners and riders then? (don't blame yer, its a long way)

Shep

OK- will be in touch nearer the time:D

Hey Shep,

I'm still planning on meeting you at 06:00 at Lizard Point (though the thought of the long haul gets less attractive by the day !).

I doubt you'll be on your own.

(I've not been watching this thread - sorry !).

Bob.
