I was out with the Balderston crowd last night on a run to the Lifeboat Inn at Thorsham (sp?) and there were a lot of RT's all blatting along merrily. I'm starting to think a test ride might be in order.
Has anyone else found this ? [/B][/QUOTE]
The RT may not get folks here excited and most seem embarassed to even consider it, but for long term ownership...it's a better tool.
When the Storm trooper thing is eclipsed by sore bum, rattled head syndrome..and the height of the thing and ugliness has finally got to you..and you find that it's fairly useless off road in comparison with lighter others....and when you realise that the RT gives very little away in performance...and gives back so much long distance comfort, especially when cold and wet.....
just try one. It will grow on you very quickly.
But if you are tall (6 ft plus), be prepared to get a taller screen..get the right one and you really can ride in turbulence free silence!
But the RT IS a little less involving, obviously. I dealt with that by finding something very basic as a second bike for those Grin factor sunny days when a brief hop around the countryside was in order.
But the handling of an Rt1150 will still amaze you. Ridden well, it is as quick round the twisties as most of it's brethren. It also enjoys a good spanking for a large bird.
Time to duck below the parapet. Fat birds rule..
