I know what you are thinking, but honestly it is a friend of mine, has inadvertently lost the small rubber grommet from the timing hole in the clutch housing on his 1150. I’ll give you three guesses where it is. Yes you’re right. Inside the clutch housing. He has convinced himself it won’t be a problem as his reasoning is “I can’t be the only person to have done it”. Is this wishful thinking or is he correct ?................. :o
 
I did the same on my 1100 but several years later found it 100% intact at the bottom of the clutch housing when I had to take the gearbox off. There's only the clutch and flywheel inside that casing with loads of clearance around them and even if it did get caught up it would be easily digested without damage to the important bits
