A few of us went up to Western Scotland and the Isle of Skye for the weekend. It was absolutely brilliant. The Weather Friday and Saturday was excellent reaching the heady heights of 25C.
We travelled up from Penrith meeting point and made our way to Tyndrum, just short of Fort William for coffee and fuel, before making it into Fort William. This was all done without touching a motorway!
We had dinner at G.C's pub -The Lochy- if your in the area the steaks are great, as is the 80 Shilling.
On the Saturday, we went round Glen Garry and off up to the ferry.
Unfortunately, one of the guys had a spill a mile into Skye and buckled his 650 front wheel...Game over. The rest of us contiued on around Skye and took in some off-road as well which was a blast.
Then back to Fort William via the Eileen Donnan Castle. Arrivd back at 9pm with only 9 miles pof fuel left!!
Sunday saw us heading out to Glen Coe in the pouring rain - well it is Scotland- before heading home.
It was a brilloiant weekend with two days of 11+ hour riding (Sat and Sun) and nearly 1000 miles covered.
If you've never been, pencil it in your diary. It is magnificent.
