Yeh! I normally ride the 1200GS but I did BMW's course on a 650 X-Country - the smallest bike available. I am shipping my 1200GS to the US at the beginning of June for a trip to Alaska. I'm not an off-roader by any stretch of the imagination, and was worried about the much-publicised gravel roads there. On the second afternoon of our 2-day off-road course in Wales, we got to switch bikes. Believe me, the skills you learn ARE transferable. I did a quick circuit through thick gravel on someone else's 1200GS, and had no worries. Like I said before, I'd recommend BMW's course to anyone. Over and out.
