A Potter Around the Vercors.

Great photos, looking at those maps and roads, little or no chance for squared off tyres there...:)

Apart from the 'Goat Track' detour, how are you getting on with the XT? I've yet to try mine..

Superb... Thanks for all of that, a very enjoyable read....We were supposed to be there in two weeks time but Mr Effing Covid has seen to that... Ah well... There's always next year.. :beerjug::thumb2

XT works very well , when actually in use . My only bug bear is no easy way to plan routes on iPad and sync, like I can with my Tom Tom 550 and MyDrive app .

Great screen . Always clear even on bright sunlight , which I’ve had all week !!

Such a good report...Arsey’s poetic travelogue even tempted me to try out an RKS today for an hour or so

Lovely engine and handles remarkably well! That 114 engine is something else...could see myself clinging on for dear life if ridden at speed without a screen.

SWMBO said the lives the look of the RKS (in preference to the Goldwing bagger I also roadtested).

And sorry for the thread hijack, Arsey

Good info. I've a mate at Garmin but I'll
stick to the Tom Tom 550 as I like the iPad routing. The TT screen is too small and not bright enough...you would've thought they'd have got that right really Have you tried the XT cury road setting?

Nice report. A real tonic for those of us missing the annual jaunt. More to come?

I’m loving mine . Really bonded with it.
Had a bit of tightness in shoulder blades first few days but now used to the riding position . It’s VERY comfy . The Le Pera seat is possibly the most comfy seat I’ve had in over 40 years of biking .
And I love the fact that I can fit the screen , rack and sissy bar in seconds and it’ll tour , then remove all on arrival . In saying that, the panniers are holding a week’s worth of kit for me , so I’ve left the rack in Brittany and the sissy bar in Banbury!!
Not used it much but cruise control is brilliant , never needed heated grips above 3, and they go up to 6 .
Handles just fine and I’ve done some VERY gnarly hairpins this week . Just need to use the brilliant rear brake as well as the front to keep it tight .

Tank range is 230+ to a 40 mile reserve .

No plans to fit different exhaust etc . No point . Hate the sound of noisy Harleys and places are cracking down so leaving it standard .

It’s a brilliant bike and a keeper .
