Hi Peeps,

Just traded to a 09 GSA and want to add couple of extra power supplies for heated jacket etc and was wondering if I disconnect the battery will I be having to deal with a service indicator light issue:rolleyes: when i reconnect the battery (same as on my F800).

Cheers!:thumb2

I don't know the exact rule here, but with mine, if the battery is disconnected for a long period say over a couple of hours, it loses the mileage based service information and just displays a 12 month from last service date. short periods are OK, but as said, I don't know where the cut off point is. Mines an '08. I have a GS911 so no issue for me as I can reset it.

I've disconnected the battery many times on 04, 06, 09 & 11 GS bikes and never had an issue.

I wire my heated clothing and GPS via a fused connection direct to the battery, and no probs at all.
