have a r1200 gs adventure and have a few random questions

any body have any idea what the space is for that goes under the pillion seat?
it looks like it would fit a D lock but am unsure (taking off the front seat and looking under just above the tool tray

and also where do people keep their tools on the bike? there is a very small tool space but cant fit bugger all in it! what tools do people keep on the bike?

The space ...

... is for a D lock, but only one sort fits and I don't know which that is ! As to the tool space, use it for your AA relay card


However a little searching around leads me to believe it's for an ABUS Granit X

ABUS granite fits, not sure on the length something 570mm at a guess, but yes thats what it's for.

Keep my tools in the shed other than the crap tool kit that comes with the bike and fits under the seat. My intercom is in there now so the tool pouch is in the top box along with the puncture kit. There is very little you can do at the side of the road with these bikes so I don't bother carrying the tools. Would be different if I was doing Mongolia or something right enough.

yeahhh but the AA bug me an i prefer to do it myself generally and also have shit signal on my phone where ever i am so the looong walk to get to signals a bitch lol

I think if you read the small print the AA dont come out to punctures whereas the RAC do. Worth bearing in mind.
