It was great to read and view the pictures of Charlie and his trip. I am glad he met his great grandparents (I never met mine). Memories are the most precious things in life and only tonight I had my daughter Skye (aged 8)shedding a tear or two as she looked through some old photos of events in her life.
I have been a lone parent for most of her life and while it is hard at times it is very rewarding. Kids are great, especially youngsters like Charlie. I got involved in kids stuff through Skye and recently qualified in Early Years Education and Childcare. I am going on to do my HNC this year and hopefully get a job to keep my R1200GS payments up (Student loan will have to do at the moment). Mind you wages in the early years area are crap. I do voluntary work at two Nurseries and at Skye's primary school and it is very rewarding and great fun.
I have also got involved in sign language stuff for hearing kids and they love it and pick it up well. Even do it with babies and toddlers and it helps them communicate before they can even speak. Its funny how we want kids to learn to walk and talk and then when they can do both we tell them to sit down and shut up

Nice Pictures Ronno looks like a great time was had by all and the wee lad will certainly remember the holiday and will probably be putting in a request to visit his Grandparents again soon. Earlier in the year we celebrated my fathers 80th and his eyes lit up when we turned up with all the grandchildren from my brothers and sisters so I can imagine your parents delight to be able to see the wee feller.
The pictures from Freudenstadt bought back memories when ever we stayed in the Black Forest we used to visit there and enjoyed belting down the B500 to Baden Baden a town so good they named it twice we stayed at Cawl on the way back last year.

Genes are amazing, such a great looking way lad, obviously highly intelligent and is actually related to you Ronno
My kids are lucky enough to have known their great grandmother. She wept with happiness (I believe) every time we made it down to Berkshire to see her and it seemed as thought she got an extra year or two of rejuvenation (sp?) from every visit so keep going back with the great grand children Ronno, they are better than drugs for your parents!

Thanks for the nice comments folks (as well as the Typical Tosser Piss-takes).
7 years on and a proud, proud day in the life of Charlie and our family. He signed for Dundee United this afternoon. He's quite exceptional and is left footed which is an added bonus.

He will be well looked after by Utd Ronnie. They are one of the best clubs for supporting their kids and families at this time. It is Jim McLeans legacy a la Alex Ferguson with the other United.
I really hope he makes it and goes on to great things for club and country.
