Hilux, Riderbob is staying at the Meadowhall B&B (link here)

As far as I know it is the same price as the Lennon Lodge at €30 pppn.

Give them a ring. :thumb2

Anyone travelling across from Stanraer? I am planning to take the 9:55 superfast on the friday.

Otherwise I will see you all there

Jerry

Dave, I'm in Warrington so not far from your good self. I turned up at the Windmill last week to meet some of the guys and thought only three had turned up as only three people had lids. When I was on the way out a couple other guys came over to have the crack. It appears a load more from the site were there but in motors. Should have a big sticker on the forehead saying, "I'm a tosser".
I'll be checking out some digs first thing 2moro and let you know on here if I have any joy. Thanks for the help.
Andy

Jerry, those of us leaving from DunLaoire are heading up to Aidans place (south of Belfast) & then travelling along the Coast Road to Donegal. Maybe one of the Northern lads can meet you off the ferry & we'll all meet up somewhere. What time do you get in ?

OK Andy. Not been to the Windmill but may take a look one of these days.

space

Just confirmed for the donegal run. the b&b's i tried were full so in the end i booked a self catering place a mile from the village. there is some extra space if anyone fails to get accomodation elsewhere and needs a roof let me know and we will see what can be done. looking forward to the trip. am i too late to book dinner for the two nights?

Do we need to book dinner? :duno

I have included you in the numbers for the Friday night meal in the Bridge Bar Bob. I will include you as well de Crowe :thumb2

The menu for the Saturday night has yet to be confirmed. I should have details in the next week or so. :augie

Thanks Aidan.

Better than eating a toastie in my single room on my own. I'm in for Saturday night as well. I eat anything.

Ta,

Ta,

The Bridge Bar is a great place to eat Bob. A wee bit on the pricey side, but well worth it. :)

Saturday night's fare should be pretty good too. :thumb2

Aidan,

Can you add me in for the meals as well?

I just booked a room in the Ardeen House (www.ardeenhouse.com) - They have a few rooms free and are a few minutes from the village.

I'd be on to hook up with the run up the coast, perhaps meeting up at the M1 or wherever is handy.

Apparently I've just used up all my brownie points as its the start of the school holidays - sounds like a good time to get out of the house.

Cheers, dB.

Hi, that would be great.

I am on the Superfast arriving at 11:45am, if you can advise somewhere en route I can wait, a cafe or service station? don't mind the odd detour:thumb

Cheers

Grand job Jerry :thumb2

I'm not sure what direction Aidan's gonna lead us so I can't comment on a suitable meeting point. I would have thought he'd be along by now :tosser

Jerry,

We shouldn't be too far away from Belfast when your ferry arrives from Stranraer. I will try to organise someone to meet you off the boat and we will gather you up on the way through.

Question on the itinerary

How much off-road will there be on this outing?

What to come prepared for the inevitable side-ways movement and drops. :(

I still cannot get an answer from work with regard to getting time off, however,i am looking at crossing overnight from Birkenhead (Sod the M6 and the run to Stranraer,AND i get a cabin) arriving Belfast on Friday morning.I plan on visits to Ballymoney and Armoy ,to pay respects to Joey Dunlop, then do a couple of tours of the NW 200 Circuit, then head for Ramelton.I reckon on arriving late Afternoon and will have to get booked in wherever i can.If i can get a deffo from work i will book up and post accordingly.Hope it all comes off !!!

I'd miss out Armoy if I was you.. nothing really to see there...but you could go through it on the way to Ballymoney from Ballycastle... that's if you do the coast road run.... which i would tell you not to miss :thumb

Here's Garmin waypoints for Joey's memorial and bar... and roughly where Garryduff Presbyterian Church is... never ever had my GPS when there so it's just a rough guess

You could visit his grave... surprisingly plain and simple but i suppose he would have wanted it that way

There will be something going on... how much is dependent on the weather for the week prior to it as it is a pretty boggy place. There will be certainly something going on and none of it should be too testing for newbies. If the group has to split into two for more challenging stuff, that will be organised in advance. I will update everyone the week prior to the event as I am going up to do a final look around then.
