Hi Wayne,
Aidan had offered for someone to meet up at the ferry port, i am across on the superfast on friday morning at 11:45. Quite happy to have you along, I have not really a clue where I am going other than head west. as long as I can fill up with coffee and rolls every hour I will be ok.
Cheers
Jerry

Hi Jerry no probs with that but wot port are you entering the emerald Island,You have PM with my numbers

care to elaborate?

If the group coming up from Dun Laoghaire arrived here late and we don't have time to do the coast road we could go from Loughbrickland via Tandragee, Portadown, Coalisland, Cookstown, the Sperrins, Plumbridge, Strabane and Letterkenny to Ramelton.

hilux, riderbob and anyone else heading for the 08.55hrs Holyhead to Dun Laoghaire next friday. Let me know if you want to meet up on en route or if you're planning to make your own way and meet at the boat.

Cheers
Dave

There will be tea, coffee, sausage rolls and cocktail sausages for the guys coming up from Dublin at my house before we head on for Donegal.

Right so, down to me Uncle's place in Ashbourne on Thursday night it is then :D

Erm... for those of us still without GPS:o ... which detailed maps of the area would you recommend we purchase that will show the off road routes... we were in a climbing shop at the weekend and there were so many covering Donegal it was difficult to know which ones would be most useful...

Cheers.. Sue...

We use the Ordnance Survey of Ireland maps Sue. You won't need them this weekend as we have the routes already planned and recced, but they are very good.

I have a lot of the OS maps on CD. If you want a copy let me know and I will bring it to Ramelton with me.

Alternatively, you can buy the OS maps online from OSI.

Hope this helps.

it's the discovery series of maps you you want....1:50000

not cheap at about £5.50 each... it takes 8 i think if you wanted to cover the whole of Donegal:eek:

Thats precisely what we thought... 8 maps is a tad on the excessive side.. we just wanted to sit down over the next few evenings and look at where the trails are heading before we set off...

Any idea which discovery series map numbers we'd need for a starter.. as I can nip round to the shop and pick em up at lunch time...??

I just love maps me...:mmmm

Nos 2 and 6 should cover it, 1 and 3 for future reference and some great wee tracks :thumb

Doesn't look like I'm going to make it, may get up on Sun morning if I can clear the decks, but Sat is out :(
