To be fair, we should have escalated it also - that's a conversation for tomorrow morning!
Initially saw this on TMF YT and now found this thread. Fair play to you for getting involved in the debate.

Has the dealer or BMW publicly apologised yet for not giving a monkey about this customer when a shock failed shockingly early? or for the delays on fixing faulty forks?
Racist

The dealer and BMW clearly do give a monkeys, it’s the service advisor who fucked up. Why on earth TMF didn’t escalate the issue within the dealer before throwing his toys out, is a mystery.

Has TMF publicly apologised to Bahnstormer yet, for being a whiney twat?
I thought he was quite reserved on his video and has no reason to apologise. As far as I’m concerned they gave him a FRO price and many others would have gone much further than he did.
Faced with the same issue, would you simply accept the £2K + labour cost for a part on a premium bike which should last far longer than it did?
I think Bahnstormer,s post on this thread was very good and it’s obveous that in 99% of respects they are a great dealer. It’s unfortunate that in this instance they initially got it wrong.
Many people work very hard and save for a long time to buy BMW bikes so consider how pissed off you’d be if you simply couldn’t afford to pay £2,500 for something that shouldn’t have gone wrong?
If any manufacturer or dealer fucked me over I would never deal with them again and would do my utmost to get even.
Hahahaha. That’s probably the funniest statement I’ve ever read on here!!! Well doneYou can learn it, if you want by listening to and being shown by a suspension tuner, how it all works and how to experiment
How do you think race bikes shave 1/10th of a second a lap, by altering suspension settings?
They work from a base-line and go from there
No GP bikes have ESA, if it was so good they would.................but it ain't - it's just another way for bike manufacturers to extract money profit from their bikes, when they sell them to ordinary punters like you![]()
I watched the video and thought he told it just how it was. Where did he "throw his toys out" ? His videos are there describing his experiences and up until then he had nothing but praise for his GS. His reaction to a buggered and very expensive shock is probably exactly the same as anybody in the same situation would exhibit.
My curiosity is leaning towards this BMW Sachs shock.
I'm not sure how expensive rear shocks are for motorcycles, especially ESA type.
Is £1800 an average price, or is it considered very high (compared to other ESA type shocks)... aftermarket or OEM.
Anyone know?

Nutty is the new Bahnstormer brand manager person so you do need to forgive his resolute defence of them. He is after a bigger discount on his next BMW so has sold his soul to the Bavarian devil. I too don't think MF was whinging, if I'd made that video Bahnstormer would have been slaughtered, he by comparison, was incredibly calm and told the story.
