Abandoned airhead in Italy , anyone's ?

... or the owner could be suffering from.....
feckit - cant remember, wossit called again? :augie

  1. Allow the local authorities in Italy to dispose/crush it.
  2. Repatriate the machine back to the UK and possibly back to it's owner.
Technically to remove without the owners consent could be seen as a crime, but I'd like to think there isn't a judge in the land that would see it that way given the circumstances.

If you feel the former is the better of the two options, then I can only surmise that it is indeed you that is the prick here :blast

Paul I don't feel the former is the better of the two options, I don't really give a toss. I am merely stating fact.

Bike parked in car park.
X doesn't know who the owner is.
X takes the bike without permission of the unknown owner.
X has committed a crime.

As for a judge seeing it as a well intentioned act given the circumstances ...
thats the whole point, no one knows under what circumstances its been left there, the owner may live just around the corner!

I may have missed something, but what about 'donating' it to the 'school for young mechanics' :thumb2

Quite, and I would suggest the right thing to happen to it if it is not claimed by the registered keeper before the owner of the land removes it as he surely has the right to do.

If you want to email me the number plate number I will contact the English police, tell them what is happening & see what they can do.

It seems it would be a lot easier to do from this side of the world:augie

What crime has he committed if there is no intention to permanently to deprive? It's certainly not theft. Taking without permission if the intent is to prevent destruction, is that a crime?. If he moved it away from a burning building would he have committed a crime? He has no intention of removing the bike from the airport and has made others aware of where the bike is.

I am confused at this logic:confused:

Make a postal owners details request to the dvla form 888 I think. Put on the form that the person has not paid a private parking ticket and you need the details for enforcement. It's £2.50 for the details.

Think of it as :trippy not logic, I'm coming to the conclusion that it's his only fun in life. He's also trying to have another snide jibe at Proff when he knows full well that the OP has already stated that if after due legal proceedings in Italy it comes into his possession it will be donated to the local mechanics college.

Which part of post 82 don't you understand?

I don't give a toss about this old shed, the owner or whether someone in the UK is stupid enough to think they can drive to another country, take a motorcycle and drive home. I am merely pointing out that in my opinion they may be committing an offence.

I also said I thought the better outcome if not claimed was the bike going to a local college.

Fucking hell its not difficult.

I don't know [or care to know] what that womans ladypart :trippy 's snide dig at me was..

Hmmm...I don't think it is right to ban someone from whatever sections simply because he isn't liked or agreed with...hopefully he'll buy an airhead one day ( doubt if he'd have another one, just slag them off), but other members with no airhead ownership also pass ( and are welcome ) comments in here :nenau

Of course I may be overuled my BHT !!

I understand all of post 82. The point that you seem determined to ignore is nobody is going to be driving to another country and if they were I am quite confident that it would be after due process of law in the relevant country.

Nobody is considering theft, just what could be done with the vehicle if it is unclaimed and seized by the airport carpark operator and then disposed of legally. If you've bothered to read the posts and understood them you will doubtless have noted that both the police and carpark security have been notified of actions taken to protect the vehicle from potential destruction. This means that it is not theft, please re-read the definition kindly provided above.

It's not difficult, but you often seem determined to appear difficult, ignorant, ineloquent and confrontational and is why I normally have the common sense to ignore your puerile drivel.

Well I tried to ignore the constant digs and name calling, I did suggest putting all the nastiness of the past behind us, I did say sorry (although I don't know what I was saying sorry for) yet you continue.

Just :censor:

But if the owner flies in and goes to pick up his bike then he'll think it's been stolen, which it has in the eyes of the law of course.

It's registered, taxed and insured, no brainer, it's owned. And the owner is not going to be too pleased at it's removal......

Just leave someone else's property where it is

It's taxed and insured in the UK, the rightful owner might be flying back to start his hols any time soon

Can't understand what the Airhead Liberation Front think it's any business of theirs:rolleyes:

:rob its all been said :D

Guys are you sure you don't want to delete your posts.

As we share the same opinion on this I can only assume you are also considered shit stirring cnuts who should be banned from this section.
