Aberdeenshire - servicing

I do all the servicing on my 1100GS, but every now and again (like every 3 or 4 years...) I like to get someone who is actually qualified to do a service in case there are things I am getting wrong. It's time to get my homework marked again - who is reliable and familiar with oilheads around Aberdeen these days (closer to Banchory the better)? Happy to go with independent folk, might actually prefer that in fact. Thanks.

You will need another service by the time you get back from Huntly to Banchory:augie

Why not take it to John Clarks in Aberdeen who still service the bikes. The lad there has a good reputation although its not cheap.
I'm going to do a spring service on mine soon and may take it for a "glossing over" at John Clarks to keep my service book and hence warranty up to date.

By the way, where do you have your MOT's done near Banchory, I have to go to Kintore to get mione done.

H&S motorcycles in Jopps Lane do MOTs and you can wander round to the little Italian place in St Andrews street for lunch if you time it right.

:) Jimg

I was just about to ask the same question; I live in Alford and my 1200GS is due 12mth service & MOT by the end of this month.:nenau

Thanks for that Jim, I keep forgetting about Jopps Lane (and I've taken my bikes there before:mmmm). I've got a load of them coming up for renewal so I may see if I get discount for bulk:augie

The garage in Alford, “W & R MURRAY (ALFORD) LTD” does bike MOT’s.

I haven’t used then, but I have heard good things about the place.

You could pop over the hill and get an MOT at Central garage in Laurencekirk. Very bike friendly he is.

And a great run to boot.

Thats another option, I have a few coming up as its near spring again. I could even pop over to Fordon and take a crowbar to prise a cup of coffee out of young Mr Cooper:D

Any changes to the recommendations for MOT's and servicing in Aberdeenshire? Now it's getting warmer I'm hoping to get the 1100 out from its nice warm garage back in Lancashire and up here to sample the roads.

If you are near Inverurie then you could do worse than take it to Station Garage in Kintore, I've always found them to be very fair but you have to book ahead.

I've always taken my bikes to John Clarks for servicing to get a stamp bur do all the oil/filter changes myself.
