Brake fluid is strongly attracted to water. The pads will probably wash off okay.

During the course of this exercise I got brake fluid all over my reasonably new Double H pads:augie I suppose they are shot now? Some say yes. Some say no. Would a couple of emergency stops in my very very local car-park scrub them off adequately? Or is it time to dip into the wallet again:(
Eeeeekkkk Double H

Or should that be Double Squeeeeeal pads????? Flush through with loads and loads and loads of water

Don't get to excited on the bike till ya get a few miles on and have a good few applications of the front brakes. If there's any left that'll burn it off

Have Fun

Right. Good.

The double H's were put on to ease out a bit of scoring on the front discs. hence the recent brake clean. they seem to have worked. Less scoring now. Time for a set of normal pads i think. Yes they squeel but a dab of copper grease at the rear of the pads does the job just fine.

Kitchen has taken on a whole new perspective with the bike on the side stand:aidan

Great to know that when I do order those new pistons and new seals (come as a pack - pistons and seals) I'll be able to do this again without fear. Anyway, I've just knocked the sides of the calipers with an AJ again, maybe the tiny tiny tiny tiny bit of air that is trapped in there will come out! thanks for the encouragement:thumb:thumb

BTW - Brakes are not toys. I don't recomend anyone else go the route I've gone to getting full compression. Do your own thing at your own cost:nenau
