ABS reset won't work

My 2001 1150GS has recently been put back on the road after a nasty off. It has a new battery and front ABS sensor (after I had to hammer the c**p out of it to get it out of the fork leg), but flatly refuses to flash both its ABS lights together. No amount of resetting will persuade it. I've double-checked all the connections I can find that had to come apart for the rebuild. Does anyone have any ideas what to try next?

And while I'm at it, I've seen threads about diagnostic tools for the 1100, but nothing for the 1150 - is there a similar diy technique, or do I have to line the pocket of my dealer?

Well, I know you can't do the "meter needle read the codes" for the 1150 (that's progress :( ).

When you say that you have reset it, what do you mean - pulled the fuse and waited?

By reset, I mean ground the brown and blue wire in the connector behind the battery, turn on, ABS button, count to 10, pinch a dwarf - that reset.
