The ABS on my 2000 1150 keeps reseting when I turn it off.
It's a real pain when off road, any ideas???

Isn't that what it's "supposed" to do? The inent being a fail-safe requiring user intervention to disable it.

take it off or turn the headlight off and don't turn the bike off

Sounds like a typical BMW solution to over complicate things. The reason for it not staying off when the headlight is turned on is?????
Will try it, for some strange reason I think that is the solution, probably due to the lack of logic behind it.

I made a mod to mine (Hybrid That is) I cut the main feed for the ABS out and wired it thru an ignition senstive relay A bit like wot I do when I fit heated grips fer folk.
You could do that and then also add in a Feck off big ON OFF clunky switch from a frankenstien movie, S'also a good move cos when ya wire it into the main feed it does away forever with the crappy low power ABS fault.
Wiring direct to the Battery is fine but it's a fecker to push an 1150 and try and bump it wi a flat battery!

sorry I'll try to expalin that better if you turn the headlight off your saving power, so you can leave the bikes ignition on and the ABS won't reset but there's still chance you'll flatten the battery.

ABS normally resets after 5k with ABSII but I thought that was relevent to R, RS, RT and LT models only Perhaps your control block has been changed ???
Nope S'easier than that either put a switch on the ABS power wire like I mention above and happy days a real on off switch. Or if you're goin Off Road pull the Blue relay out

Ahh, I think we have crossed wires (like the ABS prehaps
).The ABS resets when pulling away even though I have a solid ABS light telling me it's off!!!. To turn off I turn on the ignition and quickly press the ABS button. Keep the button pressed down and start the bike.
I have tried pressing the button before the ignition is turned on but this has no effect.
I would expect it to reset once the bike is turned off. The annoying thing is not being able to turn it off when required.

If you want an easy abs II disable to go off road lift the seat and take off the fusebox lid and remove the light Blue relay (a bit like Mr Highlander there should be only one) you should get one ABS lamp showing when you switch back on again
You now have No ACTIVE ABS Systen on the bike while that relay is out and the lamp is on.
To replace the relay it's probable better to do it with the Ignition off and the bike at a standstill and supported

Yours is the most failsafe option, and will no doubt use that first and foremost. Doesn't explain why the Bstard thing keeps reseting though.

No Worries, I thought you hadn't seen the posts If you need the wiring diagram for the Mod I can try and dig it out for ya
The Beauty of it when you have it done You never need worry about that flashy battery low voltage warning again
